The last two trains show why it's important to make sure all tracks are clear before crossing, especially at multi-track unprotected crossings. A train that just passed could be concealing another one on a different track.

Very true, Japanese freight train is max 26 cars or so and DPU is extremely rare.

Just as the first four cars passed on the first train the metallic clatter almost sounded like sleigh bells. The size and volume of trains here never slacks off. The first train had the frozen potato reefers and the DJ Joseph gondolas. Just about every type of CSX steel coil cars were present and the NS on time with the dedicated coil train even if it only was 16 cars. Plus the old travelers the 4 covered hoppers from MP. CNW. MKT. CNW. Then you arrive at home to all the live-action. The excitement of the holidays is everywhere!

JT, i saw something you can get for your horse he will like... someone had a giant ball five feet across and the horse was chasing it all around his corral and pushing it ,,, he looked like he could be having a lot of fun with it... and helping to keep in shape too... check into that ... i would love to see your horse playing with that. that would be as cool as your train videos. looked like rubber but couldn't tell for sure.

In my driving days i use to drive right by the Toledo zoo which is one of the better zoos in the country as i've been told. bet i went past it eight times. Dixie Transportion.

A few of reasons for the crew van having to bring the conductor to the head end, 1: he had to "arm" the FRED or EOT device (usually the engineer will relay the air pressure reading and the conductor will respond that the device reads the same or close to what the engineer sees on the screen), 2: the train has had to either set out or pickup cars at a certain 😢location, or 3: the train was split (commonly called "cutting the crossing") and had to be reassembled. There can be other reasons, but generally those are the two I experience when assisting crews on the Thayer Subdivision. Sometimes the train will also have to pull up to either clear the Mainline or a crossing that is blocked and the conductor will watch and make sure the train clears before heading back to the head end. Love the mixed trains and you definitely hit the jackpot on steel cars and loads, and the big box reefers. Was up in your part of the country two weekends ago we came up to see Bengals game at Paycor stadium… the wife is a big Joe Burrough and Jamar Chase fan from their time at LSU.. did not get to rail fan but was able to see the orientation of Queensgate yard.. great catches here… looongggg train

You had another great railfanning day at the Mill Creek location in Cincinnati, Ohio on 13 December 2023, Jaw Tooth! You had several trains meeting at Mill Creek with the last train meet being a total surprise because we were unaware that we would see a northbound Norfolk Southern train appear on the second track as the southbound Norfolk Southern train passed out location. I enjoyed watching this video and watching the variety of freight cars on these trains.

I have to tell you that I admire your filming technique! I recently watched another railfan’s video, and he didn’t have a sharp enough angle, and the fast train whizzed by without the viewer being able distinguish much about the cars. Have you considered using a tripod for the long trains on the cold days? Merry Christmas to your human and furred family!

For a full scale train. The action of movement is so smooth. Does the ground shake With that much. Weight. Cos heading to AKSteel out side of Rock port. Close to Rock port power house. Yes it does sometimes. I can feel the ground shake when a heavy train goes by at speed. I didn't notice it on these trains though
