Small correction, Seekers of knowledge means seekers of Gyana or knowledge of the Self/God or other wise the mystery of this. The ones established in knowledge (stitha pragnya) means the Siddha, the one who is firmly established in Gyana ie who is realised (Jeevanmuktha). So a person prays for what they want, if they want relief from suffering, if they want to improve materialistic desires, if they are done with the materialistic world and want knowledge and to know what the hell is this, and then the one who is establish in knowledge, the one who is free, they don't need any reason to pray, they prays just out of pure love just for love sake. And none of it is wrong and all is good, a person prays for what they want, you can't force someone to want something right. You can't tell a man who is hungry and struggling, "Pray for knowledge" it is just cruel. The same goes for materialistic desires, he might stand in front of God and say I want gyana or bhakti but his heart wants something else, so let him try and get those and see what they are. When he is done with it and they seem tasteless, he will on his own seek knowledge. In this whole thing the person is holding on to God. God is his cornerstone.
