Wow Joe...I'm sure I'll be able to find myself a little cave in this area...will just bring my friends - the iguana, my new dog, my laptop and I, - setteling around the Devils Cathedral, living off coffee, chocolate and bananas....what else would we need for life🤗,!! Thanks a lot for sharing your beautiful area and you're right...heaven for retired people 👍

I just love your videos! I've been drawn to Vilabamba for around 20 years and watch every youtube video about Vilca I can find. Malacatos and the other valleys you've shown are often mentioned but rarely shown. I appreciate you showing these beautiful areas. The videography was stunning, many Vilcabamba videos show the same things but this showed how beautiful the mountains are in the dry season and other places and things I've never seen in a video before. So exciting and unbelievably beautiful!

My friend has a farm next to the river in Yangana. The water is so pure, you can drink it as is. Wonderful! Thanks for the tour of the area around Vilca. I miss it so...

I have lived off and on in Vilcabamba for ten plus years. I do consider moving from Vilca to one of the other towns nearby. Its one of those balance things. How much society do I need? Am I serious about cutting down on hanging with foreigners vs hanging with Spanish speakers to improve my Spanish. We change that balance over time Ive noticed. Good news is all the places Joe has shown here are on the bus line. The bus is cheap, less than a buck for us old guys. The taxi is cheap too. Joe....am I showing my age by suggesting a "map". I know map reading is so old school. I dream of an exzagerated virtical topographic map of this area. Only the Condor knows the Andies well. Great video production by the way.

great video guys! those storaques remind me of the hoodoos in the Big Bend of West Texas. Thanks! The question remains where is Santiago? Is this like a Waldo thing?

Are any of the fruits and vegetables in the area organic?
@jolifarms-Ecuador3 ай бұрын
of course. The Saturday market is primarily organic. and you can always grow organically... basically if a fruit tree is hardy and does not get a lot of bugs, Ecuadorians will not spray it due to cost. I have apples, bananas, citrus, avocados, etc on my property... as with anywhere in the world, if you grow it, you know how it is grown and cared for. With that said, there is also a lot of fruit shipped in from around the country and we have no idea if it is organic or not.
