This is what I was waiting for, to click on. Just a compassionate conversation to listen to. I'm not an American, and hardly watch news unless necessary, and of course on a world wide level, it affects us all to some degree. My response to this election was heavy and in disbelief, similar to when my country elected in someone that had me spiralling into a very unfamiliar shyt hole. I realise that a lot of this is speaking to the part that has me '...feeling let down traumatically' that you talked about, that resonated. I'm not stewing about it, I just wanted to understand why it hits me hard and I kind of push it down and call a ban on all news. I know that's not the way, I want to sit with things like this and at least understand it more of why I am feeling this response and DO something with that. Anyway, thank you Rick. By the way, we had our own Nkosi Johnson here, similar in her inspiration, fortitude, advocacy and was such a beautiful soul, Eve van Grafhorst. Sometimes I need reminding of my strength and resilience too, that there is other things going on for me, and that being in that space is helpful to myself and therefore to others, without even having to talk about it.

Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. It is needed now more than ever. How do we best handle the family members that love us but call to obviously “gloat” about the election the very next day when you haven’t spoken to them in weeks. I never debate or argue with those family members because they refuse to watch debates and only watch a certain news network. But as much as I work to stay grounded and in the light- it stimulates a negative frustrated feeling inside for a few days- i distract myself from it- but the pushiness I receive with my healthy boundaries - how do we best switch that off and change the energy they project onto us so that I can stay out of that negative energy cycle that they bring into the relationship- covertly and overtly. I find that I just isolate from those people but then they feel victimized and make assumptions I am not responsible for. So, how best to handle these people in our lives. My usual go to is - smile, change subject and but a healthy wall up but for some reason this seems to not stop it. I can imagine that others are having these issues. And also knowing that if my party had won- i would never think of being that way and would be sensitive to it, actually. Thank you again.

I listened to Dr Bandy Lee give her 2 cents on this issue because she has been screaming & shouting & writing, along with hundreds of other mentally healthy people, from the rooftops but to no avail it seems. Sometimes I wonder if some Americans even know what mentally healthy really is considering what happened. What really got me though is how you posted that 51.7% voted for the mentally ill, unwell , unhealthy entity, known as DJT which means, roughly, 49% did not. That means a lot to me because 1.7 % is not a lot of people.
