Great tips Lisa. You may want to try (on vellum), scribble your blend colors then dip a "small" paint brush in the alcohol (here and there, as many as you want). You will get puddles, bubbles or circle patterns on your paper. Very striking. I even got streaks of gold in my sample.

@lisasstampstudio3 жыл бұрын
Kathy so happy you could stop by to watch!!! Your vellum is curling because you need to use alcohol that is at least 91% or more. I have tested with many different percentages. Go to my website: www.lisasstampstudio.com On the top menu bar hover over Shop Now and then select Craft Room Favorites. Scroll down to the bottom to find the alcohol. Click the picture order!! What type of ink did you stamp with on the one?
@lisasstampstudio3 жыл бұрын
Charlotte so happy to have you watch!! I think you are referring to the card using the Fresh Freesia shimmer vellum. I used Memento Black ink but it needed to dry for a bit. I am sure you could use Stazon as well.
@stevenandjuliesims84352 ай бұрын
I didn't know anything about alcohol inks until I saw the pens at Hobby Lobby. I decided to just give them a try. I googled tutorials and the first person I saw was only using them in coloring books. I, and I am saying this without swearing, I hate coloring books. I shake too much and drawing outside the in a coloring makes me insane! My granddaughter feels exactly the same. SO, moving on, I found you and this tutorial and have been experimenting ever since. Even more exciting is that other than the pens, I have everything on hand!! I didn't want to invest "real money" in pens because I wasn't sure if I would like it. Even with "cheap" pens I love this. For someone with hands that don't work sometimes, this form of art DOES. NOT. CARE! I am not an artist but I love art. I cannot draw or paint, but I love paper and stuff to put on it. Your video is the reason I spent a day creating a child-like rainbow and dots and lines and just fun stuff. I normally only postcards and journal pages and not beautiful cards like you, but there is room in this medium for everyone. THANK YOU!

Hi Lisa, I’m told it may not be easy to find 99% alcohol. Because of Covid things have changed & it isn’t easy to find some things in stores. Supermarkets can have a supply of something one day & the next day the shelf is empty. It’s been a catch 22 trying to find some items.

I think instead of stippling with a brush and all that alcohol, a better idea would be to stamp with a felt stamping tool. Cuts down on the inhalation of alcohol .

Thanks so much for watching Carmen!! Thank you for your interest in the Stampin’ Up! catalog. Unfortunately I’m unable to send you a catalog since I’m in the United States and the catalog will reflect U.S. pricing and products. In addition, my contract with the company prohibits me from selling outside the U.S. due to tax and tariff laws To see if Stampin’ Up! sells in your country, head over to the demonstrator locator at www.stampinup.com.
