My new favorite swing coach - (I'm a KZbin golf swing junkie). The 4 week series on better ball striking is terrific.

I have taken up golf after an eighteen year absence and am now 70 years old. I am still pretty mobile, but have forgotten everything I used to do. I won two consecutive club championships way back when and I realise that I can no longer swing at the same pace that I once did. On doctors orders, I have decided to take up golf again, he said walking a lot, so I took my own determination of what that mean't. This is the first time I have heard of maintaining a more upright spine angle, although I can't remember what I used to do, so everything is new to me once again. I haven't tried it yet, but I hope it works, as I have lost a fair bit of distance, since I last played. It's only been couple of months, so I expect some improvement and I'm searching for tips. From the depths of my memory, your tips seem to register more with me than others. So, I will give them try and see what happens. I will let you know how I get on.

Thank you for this series I have gone through the videos a couple of times now and my game is improving. The guys I golfed with tell me that it’s cheating that I practice and I’m getting better. Now I’ll out drive most of the guys I golfed with, and my chipping has improved tremendously.

Hi Chris, thanks for this great series…I nees to improve the contact with my fairway woods…can I do the same work with my 5 wood?
@MyGolfDNA Жыл бұрын
Thank you Ignacio! Glad you enjoyed the series. You can do the same work from this series with any club in your bag. The driver has some subtle differences, but that would based on the stance width and ball position.

Thanks for a great series! Starting to look better even if im only in week 2 so far. But I already know this will be a problem for me. I don’t have much lag from the start and the little I do got I cast early. Will this get better once I manange to keep the trail foot like you say and stay in posture? Or do you have any other tips how to keep it until it’s ready to be released? Thanks!
@MyGolfDNA Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the series. Moving in the correct sequence will make lag much easier for you to preserve. Too much trail arm in the downward half or too much push from the lead thumb on the shaft can make it nearly impossible for you to maintain the angle. This series should help you for sure. Stay on videos 1 and 2 for a good bit and then slowly make the swings longer and keep an eye on things before you try to move into video 3.

Chris, you mention at about 7min to throw the club as hard as you can. What are you using to drive that force are you using your hands and arms?
@MyGolfDNA Жыл бұрын
The simple answer is the muscles like bicep, tricep, wrist and forearm muscles etc., that used in the upper body, in a throwing motion . The more advanced answer can get more lot more technical, like the position of the scapula when the throwing motion starts. That would probably get a little more complex than I can get on this platform for the masses and would probably be one of those member vault videos that will be produced in the immediate feature. Oh and I responded back to your email that you sent into the website by the way. Not sure if you saw it or not.

Hi Chris great drill. Is the 80 percent weight on lead side just for this drill or do you suggest weight forward even with normal swing?
@MyGolfDNA Жыл бұрын
Just the first portion of the drill I want you preset to 80%. As soon as you start adding the real movement back to the mix, start at 50/50, load trail side up as normal and go!!! Thanks for watching and glad you like the drill. Good luck.

The discipline it takes to make change and having a good practice plan is what it’s all about. You got this. Take your time and let the speed and longer clubs slowly come back to you. Old faults are super pesky and always want to make it harder for us to get to the end result. You’ll get there. Trust the process.

Do these tips work on PGA Tour Road to the Masters, Xbox? Asking for a friend. 🤔

I don’t play video games but I’m sure you’ll be just fine with it on your Xbox. I’ll buy one next week and test it out myself to validate.

How can something that’s looks so easy be so difficult 🤔
@MyGolfDNA2 күн бұрын
Nothing in golf is easy unfortunately. Gotta take the time and put the reps in and not worry about the results of the ball at first and good things will come.
