As an aerospace engineering student, the iPad mini is the most commonly used device, especially in smaller cockpits and tight spaces

3rd year medical student in the US, to this day the iPad mini provides the easiest pocket reference for trainees. Where looking up information on a phone will get looks, no physician will scold a student using an iPad for information reference. That being said, clinically, there's very use for an iPad mini for healthcare professionals as all of the documentation is on desktops located all throughout the hospitals.

As an artist, my main content creation device is an iPad Pro, but when I really wanna travel light, I always grab my iPad mini. It’s the perfect size digital sketchbook when on the go. Do i wish the iPad mini 7 got an OLDD screen with thinner bezels & face ID? Sure. But it’s still a HUGE upgrade for my iPad mini 5. But even if I had the iPad mini 6, I’d probably still upgrade for the apple pencil pro support & faster chip. But I’m an artist, so that’s important to me. For others, it may not be worth the upgrade. The iPad mini 8 will probably get the better screen that everyone wanted this time. But that probably isn’t coming until 2027. In the meantime, the iPad mini 7 will suit me well.

I purchased the mini 7 and did some speed test against my M1 iPad Pro and the speed difference is negligible. I’m talking 0.4 or 0.3 millisecond speed difference on the mini against the iPad Pro M1.

It would be great to see a side by side comparison with the Mini 6 to see how much faster the Mini 7 is doing common tasks. I get the feeling it might not be a huge difference so it would be good to see it in action.

My first and only iPad is an Air 2 from 2012… so I can’t wait to grab the 7th gen mini. It’ll be a massively worthwhile upgrade.

Why does Apple call it the Apple Pencil Pro if it's not exclusive to Pro iPads? I think people may find that confusing as the Mini isn't a Pro 🙈

The Pro means here that it is intended for mainly artists. If it is used for occasional note taking, the USB-C version would be sufficient. I just feel Apple could have added the magnetic charge as note takers won't have any benefits from the pressure sensitivity, barrel roll or tool changer.

I watched this on my iPad mini 7 😁 I love it and having upgraded from a 2018 iPad the difference is night and day. I don’t need it for anything more than viewing content online and doing emails. Voice control even works pretty well on it for me, it had ground to a halt on the 2018 iPad. 0:06

I bought iPad mini 7 with & Pencil Pro yesterday. I already have a MacBook Air M1 and iPhone 13 Pro which I replaced the battery last month at the Apple Store. I was debating getting a iPad Air it didn’t make sense for me , so went with IPad Mini 7.

- no 120hz (they intentionally save this for future models) - no independent external display (only mirroring) these two are dealbreakers. when these two comes, i will buy.

I was excited for the iPad mini 7, but iPad Pro M4 11 is just so portable that I couldn't justify it. They could've done something better imo.

Yes I did just that and love it! I pad pro 11” Oled is beautiful aftermarket magnetic protective holder can’t be beat for slim carry along.

I got the new iPad Air that came out this year I got a deal through my carrier this is the second iPad I've ever owned so maybe in the future I will go to a mini cuz it looks like they're getting better and it's not like iPad is a one size fits all thing anymore got the iPad the are the pro the mini right now though I am liking the size of the air

The Mini is great for its portability. If you use your iPad at home only, the Air is a better choice.

it’s kinda frustrating that they didn’t even fit a 90hz screen into it, this screen size is literally perfect for mobile gaming & media consumption. 17pro is super capable to run games with 90fps. & to handle the power consumption, they could adjust the battery like +200mAh

@@jasonlittle2666 it’s been a while since I’ve owned a Mini (Mini 4, in fact) but as someone who always gets the largest iPhone, even when I had that mini, I have to say that there is quite a difference between even the smallest iPad and the largest iPhone. The difference in total size might not sound like much, but the aspect ratio makes a significant difference. The iPad mini is wider while even a Max sized iPhone is still very narrow relative to its hight. Hence why you can do things like use the Mini is landscape mode and split screen multitask. Plus there Pencil support if that matters to you. At the end of the day, one is still a full fledged tablet while the other is still a phone.

Fair review. Took mine back and will stick with my M1 11 in pro until the mini gets 120hz - jelly scrolling and motion blur too bad for my eyes. As you said a refurbished M1 11 will far outperform the new mini. The M4 iPad 11 is far better than the mini and a bit better than an M1 (my M1 is 16/2tB as a Costco exit model last year for £699……bargain.)

I have the Samsung Tab S9 and also the Mini 7, because of the form factor. I find iPad os limited compared to Samsung/Android. Surprisingly, the WiFi range on the Mini 7 is significantly worse than the Samsung tablet. But I bought it because there is no high quality small Android tablet.

They are always penny pinching us. They could give us a simified Ipad line up but no they give us this mess that we now have. I have no idea what they are thinking about. It's the same reason why I am going to get the Samsung Ultra 10 or the Samsung Tab 10 5G. Simple to decide and not 1 million different variants or pencils
