@@leopardgeckotalk the ant community is growing larger especially recently there are a few discord groups built of people all over the UK and other countries all connected and sharing findings, colonies, and even selling things it's called ants anonymous. i recommend checking it out

If you order some magnets that are wider than the holes in the red acrylic you can place one magnet over the corners and it'll hold in place. Also, they're escaping the old nest because of the magnets. That dirt they've pushed between the glass and the formicarium has slowly over time pushed the glass away from the nest. This has happened with my nests before. Once they get enough dirt wedged into the space between the glass and nest the magnets aren't strong enough to hold it flush anymore and they can squeeze out. The new one with the screws won't have that issue.

Hey gecko. It’s been a while since I checked in on your channel. I’m glad to see you have a thriving colony. What species is this? I always like to hear different experiences of keeping ants. I’ve managed to raise a few different colonies now including a leaf cutter one that is slowly taking over my room. Keep em coming!

I love watching ants I don't have any at the moment but it is on my bucket list to have some . Quick question though would you recommend going bigger from the start or is it best to upgrade as the colony grows 🤔
@leopardgeckotalk2 жыл бұрын
thanks :) nope definitely start small, as small as a simple test tube. It does look a little boring, but it's the best for them. The queen's chamber would be tiny in the wild, so they need some small to get started in :)

hey! ive had my leopard gecko for nearly 2 years now and i want to move them into a bioactive, do u have a video u could link for how to set one up properly?
@leopardgeckotalk2 жыл бұрын
Yeah here's a playlist with all my builds - kzbin.info/aero/PLS9BN8VEnxX8YWrEUjfkn8IOYL_4Q4CL2 My leo tanks are more naturalistic now, with live plants in pots, rather than fully bioactive, but it's a good step to take as I've found bioactive arid tanks to be a little tricky to keep alive.

hey guys about to a Leo, was wondering how long ah should I leave the deep heat projector on? It’s the heat source, I’m wondering if it’s an all day everyday thing?
@nightinggale64702 жыл бұрын
They can be left on 24/7 or turned off at night. A temperature drop at night is perfectly natural and potentially even beneficial for them, they don’t need heat at night unless it drops below 60F. I strongly recommend using a halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer or dimming thermostat, though, they’re more natural and beneficial than DHPs. The levels of infrared A and B they produce more closely mimic the sun (DHPs produce barely any IRA, the most beneficial wavelength).
