I'm a game dev, and my guess is the act of polishing is what's causing them the longest to finish the build. Scope creep as well, Edvinas mentioned it himself that they're trying to do the best the team can. Hence all the resprites.... question is, how many times did they do resprites? In the span of a year, I've done like 3. I've been stuck there as well, but I update my community weekly so they don't lose hope.

What many people don't realize is that the team working on Pointless are doing it using nothing but their own free time, without a single donation from their fanbase. To add onto that, I think that the project is too overly ambitious for their own good, which as a consequence, drags the development of the game to a snails pace. By all means, if they wish to engage in their own pursuits and be perfectionist about everything, by all means, go for it, but at the very least, be honest with us and say it's not getting updated for a few years. Also, for how long games take to make is dependent on whether your yandere dev or your a competent dev, lmao.

@@dar_duck In regards to Valve, I'm not up to snuff with my knowledge. As for Bethesda, they can genuinely make some exquisite games, but they're held back by people higher up on the chain of command. That, and Skyrim is just really fucking easy to milk. As for the Pointless crew, i really think they need some form of wrangler to keep the whole project on tract. Someone that can put their love for the game aside and set a generalized standard for the game. Well, they don't have to do that (it's a free game and no money is being spent here.), but this is usually what happens with plenty of fan games like this that get overly ambitious. Though, i hope we don't have a 'The Thief and the Cobbler' situation on our hands.
