It emphasises the necessity of spiritual hunger, prayer, and partnership with God’s work. Key Scriptures: Isaiah 56:7 - "Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer..." Jeremiah 33:3 - "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Matthew 28:18-20 - The Great Commission Philippians 4:15-19 - Partnership and Kingdom finance Purpose: This sermon was delivered to encourage believers to: Seek deeper encounters with God. Engage in persistent prayer for spiritual quickening. Understand their role in Kingdom work. Partner with God financially and through discipleship. Main Teachings 1. The Call to Spiritual Ascension Mounting up in the Spirit means rising above distractions to encounter God. Key Prayer: "Holy Ghost, quicken me tonight!" True worshippers must seek God deliberately, not casually. Scriptural Foundation: Sons of Solomon 1:4 - "Draw me, and I will run after thee." 2. Hunger for the Word and Divine Direction Have you received your word for the year? The word of God is essential for direction and sustenance. Key Verse: Matthew 4:4 - "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." 3. Exercising the Spirit in Prayer Just as in physical exercise, spiritual discipline is necessary. Avoid being spiritually passive-engage actively in prayer and intercession. Those who seek God earnestly will be rewarded (Hebrews 11:6). 4. The Apostolic Model for Kingdom Advancement The Jerusalem Church model focused on: Apologetics (defending the faith) Evangelism Doctrinal formulation The Antioch Church model was a sending church, focused on missions. The Antioch model represents the apostolic vision of Jesus (Acts 13:1-4). 5. Understanding Kingdom Partnership Philippians 4:15-19 highlights the importance of financial partnership. Giving is not about obligation but about fruitfulness ("not because I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account."). God rewards diligent givers with supernatural provision. Illustrations and Examples The Gym Analogy: Many people go to the gym but do not work out effectively. Similarly, some attend church but fail to engage in prayer and the Word. Apostle Paul’s Missionary Model: Unlike Jerusalem, Antioch was a mission-driven church, sending apostles to the nations. Personal Testimony: Apostle Arome shared experiences from his training under spiritual mentors, highlighting the necessity of submission and discipline.
