Outrageous! Something needs to be done. Congress should authorize the FTC to collect a stiff penalty for every ignored request and uncorrected mistake in a consumer's file. Outsourcing by these agencies to India, S. America or wherever out to be outlawed or very heavily taxed. Consumers should have the right to exactly the same credit reports banks and merchants get.

Two types of credit reports. I didn't know the consumer report differs from lenders. How do you dispute what you can't see? Seriously, had the woman in this clip not peeked into her file on the Loan Officer's desk, she may have never known why she was being declined. Disgusting.

The thing that scares me is that information, such as, our social security number, names, addresses are being seen in these foreign countries.

Most companies are not interested in working with people who are experiencing hard times because they know the credit will hang over their heads forever. I have addresses I've never lived at and accounts I have no knowledge of. I am tired of fighting and when one removes something you have to fight the others.

the reason why these agencies don't work is because Americans don't sue enough Federal law says if someone pulls your report they must provide you a copy if you request. Even if they do background check for employment they still must provide you a copy if requested. If they refuse...file suit. fair credit reporting act.

While sad and frustrating, this is the way of the banking system and corporate greed in the USA. The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) sadly were written by collection companies, creditors, banks, and of course their team of lawyers. This is much deeper than the credit reporting process. This falls back on corrupt politicians, criminal bankers, and the banking industry’s greatest weapon of all, the people’s inconsistencies.

When you dispute it and they say unresolved lenders won't let you have a loan either if its over 1k. As well some of the creditors are reporting it disputed when it never is disputed because they know you can't get a loan unless you undispute it which brings down your credit score and or you pay it off!

The only successful weapon against creditors, collections agencies, and the big bad credit bureaus is documentation. Then move forward with a lawsuit. the Bureaus never hire an attorney to represent them in small claims. This is a 4-year-old program. Nonetheless, I doubt if this industry has changed much. So, it's worth watching it. The problem is the lawmakers in both House and Senate in Washington showing total incompetence and lack of interest to solve the problem, clean up the mess, and hold these companies accountable for their egregious and illegal conduct.

All the more reason that you should never try to build credit for any reason and therefore, a case for not using credit cards to "BUILD CREDIT" such as Dave Ramsey hs been telling everyone. You don't have to have a credit rating to buy anything. You may have to fill out more paperwork, but it's less headache than trying to get your credit report fixed when there's a mistake ... not to mention the interest saved by paying cash for something. Most people that have credit cards feel as if they can use the card so, they overspend on their budget and end up with no cash in their account at the endow the month, so they use a credit card, which puts them into debt, and having to pay interest. They would have more money if they only spent what they only allow in their budget. The interest they have spent on cards, could be sitting in their savings account instead. I went from being overdrawn on my checking account every second or third month and 15,000 worth of CC bills. I shredded the cards so I couldn't use them and got them anymore, paid them off in three years. I now have built up my checking account to $17,000 and if I need to borrow money, I borrow it from my checking account (my own personal Credit card company) and pay it back to my checking account, with no interest charges.

I have been dealing with bunch of maxed-out credit cards for years now and has really cause more damage to my credit report. I have been decline of so many loan deals but finally met with Michael Gibbs who help me get rid of the eviction on my credit report and boost my score above 830 across Equifax, Experian and TransUnion respectively.
