SGA’s game reminds of Brandon Roy in regards of poise and patience. He’s never in a rush and gets to his spots on the basketball court anytime he wants. Just very skillful.

Exactly, he always knows what he wants to do and where he wants to go and never has to force his way there… Shai jus too talented.

@@ehoua What I worry is can Chet develop into an all star quick enough where he can take pressure off SGA in carrying the team. If Chet can, then this team can make deep playoff runs and in a couple of years, OKC can be possibly be in title contention, where the team is fully built around Chet & SGA, but we’ll see.
@808bboarder8 ай бұрын
@@tristangourdet6084This is it. Especially losing a year of that. Could be a blessing in disguise tho. A lot of guys got good burn last season and made a statement. If Chet is the unicorn then this mf decade of OKC ball is going to only get more fun. Plus all the picks and we still don’t even respect their most recent guy like we should in Cason Wallace. Scary Thunder team tbh
@tristangourdet60848 ай бұрын
@@808bboarder The thing is the picks have to start paying off at some point. If there’s a player out there that can help the team take that next step, then Sam Presti and company have to pull the trigger, where even though it’s a risk, they still do the trade because they know that player is gonna take them into contention. So for example, if your Presti, take your shot in going after Giannis.

SGA is trying to get the defender to open up. Once he gets a shoulder into the defenders' chest/hip, he steps back or stops on a dime 90% of the time. This is usually around the freethrow line/ mid range. Defenders have to play him straight up and not allow him to do his spin move, as he often does in this scenario. The better defenders like Marcus Smart, KCP, etc try to play him straight up because of the scouting report. Slower defenders know to play him striaght up except they're too far, he's pulling up for the 3 easy jumper. In the clutch though, this is the other 10%. he's turning the defenders hips and getting to the rim no matter what, not as many step backs. You can see this against the Wizards and on Jaylon Brown, despite him being there every time in somewhat good position. I think these are the things SGA looks for to get his buckets. His balance, poise, pace and his sneaky off-ball hand+foot work are what makes him successful in almost every scenario. Unguardable.
This is quality content right here, I've been studying his game since he was a clipper, I never thought he'd be were he is today but his game is so fundamental, I wish he played for the wizards no cap.
