According to MaxDefensePH: At least 2 MRF models. MRF Batch 1 (12-14 MRF) MRF Batch 2 (40 MRF) MRF Gap Filler (1-2 squadrons/ 12-24 used MRF) Additional LCA/ FA-50 (1 squadron)

There is also a potential acquisition of fighter Aircraft for the Philippine Navy. A maritime strike aircraft, possibly HAL Tejas MK1A/MK2, Eurofighter Typhoon, FA50, and Naval variant of KF21

My prediction. 62 aircraft. 1st batch - Jas39 gripen 14 units (c/d - 10 & e/f - 4) 2nd batch - Jas39 gripen E 12 units. 3rd batch - 2nd hand F-16 12 units and 12 F-16V 12 units 4th batch - KF21 Guramae 12 units.

If Philippines get the kf21 (semi stealth), f35 a&b (stealth multi role fighter) , f2 viper zero and f15ex. Philippines will have 4th Gen, 4.5 gen and 5th Gen fighters. Will have enough to defend the sky for any intruders. F50 don’t get them use the f50 the Philippines has for training. Also need to invest on submarines. One more thing buy f5 cheap and better

Not an MRF. It is an LCA. MRF is Tejas Mk2, same level as Gripen and F-16…

Define MRF ? Even both Gripen and F-16ds are considered light fighter aircrafts .

@@bumblebee5958 F-16V and Gripen E carry more payload, more powerful engines, more endurance (F-16) more capabilities (EW, IRST, Network centric, etc.) than an LCA. Despite being lightweight single engined MRF, they are more bigger in size than an LCA. The Indians themselves developed a larger variant of Tejas which is the Mk2, at the levels of F-16, Gripen and Mirage 2000. A tier above the Tejas Mk1/1A!

@@bumblebee5958 if you want the Tejas for the AFP, they are more suited for the Philippine Navy. A dedicated Maritime strike/ Anti shipping plane. Like the Argentinian Super Etendard back in the 1980s or Indian Air force's Jaguar strike plane.
