Great photos! The photo at 7:37 is a 1922 to 23 Model T Ford with disc wheels, these could be bought as a accessory at the time, and were popular in dry locations!

What came back to me when I saw the cobbler was all the shoes he had some on the shelves and the others were ready for pickup. And the smell in the shop! Seems like it was last week!

I don't think the FBI would be testing oil viscosity, more likely the API, American Petroleum Institute. Their ratings are still used on automobile oils today.

Why wouldn't the FBI be testing oil in the 1940s? We were at war and what better way to sabotage military vehicles than to introduce inferior oil into the supply chain? Everything was suspect at that time. U.S. Japanese citizens were interned in camps for security purposes! The Nesa (spelling) 442 Japanese battalion could only fight in Europe! Things were very different at that time in this country!

At 71 I still rember 5 cent coke.and 18 cent per gallon gas. And that dirty old man that had a long finger nail that made the oil stick look a Quart short. And at the Toledo air port we would watch the Connie's and dc-3 come and go while we ate our big boy Bergers. then retire to bascome Ohio's Meadowbrook park to get a autographed baseball from the the Detroit tigers heading to there Detroit home. Then pass through to tiffin then to Findlay Ohio
