ℹ️ About the Episode:
If you're in the mood to escape to Nova Scotia, relax, and see the stunning sights (with a few dad jokes along the way), this is your episode. We don't set out to create a theme in the videos-the destination does that for us. This waterfront site and stunning landscape created the perfect location for a KYD episode. In this episode, we pack up in Quebec City and make our way to Glooscap, Nova Scotia. For those who live in New Brunswick, we know your province is equally stunning, with friendly and welcoming people. We hope to make it back this way again so we can take the time to dig a bit deeper. For this season, and our first visit to Nova Scotia, we're hitting the postcard destinations. One of the highlights of Glooscap was hiking along the shoreline of Soley Cove as the tide was receding. The tides here often surprise visitors with just how fast they rise. If you're not careful, you can find yourself in a dangerous situation-so we hired a hiking guide. Anna with Fundy Contemplations did more than provide expert guidance on the tides. She shared so much local knowledge and made our experience even better. If you visit Glooscap, NS, during your travels, we highly recommend you look Anna up!

I use an 18" piece of old "white water hose" with a shut off valve attached to attach to the Zero-G hose. It fits in the water fill fitting and you can start-stop water flow at the trailer, preventing overflow.

Mark has such an infectious laugh and Caleb knows exactly what to do to crack him up. He cracks me up as well. I’m truly gonna miss when he goes off to college. The videos just won’t be the same. I hope he is considering a career in comedy because he is too funny! Nova Scotia was one of our favorite places to go as was Prince Edward Island. We were there during the 150th anniversary (pre-pandemic) such a gorgeous place. And if you are of a certain age, and grew up with Anna Green Gable’s, you can almost see her coming down the Walk. Marc, I saw you turning off the water before leaving the campsite and thought of something we have in our yard - hose valves! We actually use ours on the hoses for watering the lawn, but you could easily use one at the faucet and just turn the valve 1/4 turn and the water is off. Makes it a lot easier than turning a faucet on and off. You would want to shop a bit to get the valve you want, brass or plastic, and the opening in the valve you would like.

Take particular note of the French Military. Then when you observe the pagentry in Ottawa (which is British) compare. The authenticity of the life that was there when the Fort was actually in use is an experience you will never witness again. It is living HISTORY.
