Great documentary, an easy 40 minute watch. Southampton may not be a club winning tons of trophys but it will always be the best!

Aged 11, I cried my eyes out with pure joy when Bobby scored! Still makes me feel emotional to this day, pure nostalgia!! Dad, Uncles and an Aunty all went but my cousin and I were left home to watch on the telly!! I later had 12 great yrs as a Steward at the Dell, Red and White to the core!

I'm proud to say that I was there on that special day, leaving Salisbury bus station at six in the morning heading to Wembley, Leaving as underdogs, and returning as FA cup winners. It's true that the bridges over the motorway was full of fans and flags banners. A brilliant day one I'll take to my last resting place.

Lawrie McMenemy, best manager ever, and a lovely guy. I came down to Southampton in 1969 as a Crystal Palace supporter. We lost some fans on the way back home, but Lawrie picked them up and took them back to Basingstoke in his Jag Mk 0 to meet up with the Supporters Club coach. Top man! Absolute respect to him.

Well done Saints for correcting the mistake! Thanks for the amazing video on such a perfect day for the club, the fans, the class of '76 and the class of 2016. 4-2 against Man City, what a game... what a result! Osgood and Stokesy would be proud... COYR

I'm a Man City fan, and I remember we were on a family holiday in Wales. I was out shopping with my mum and we came accross this crowd ootside Rumbellows TV shop on the high street. They were all watching the match through the window, then of course I hsd to have a look, and it was then that I saw the score Southampton 1 Manchester United 0. Great day it was and with City winning the League Cup that year also it was a great season.

Remember that game so vividly. I had just turned 20 and had been a Man Utd fan since visiting my sister in Manchester when I was eight. We were watching the game in Breen’s Pub in Limerick. Place was packed. Myself and three of my mates, all United fans, were surrounded by the rest of my mates, about 15 or more, they were all pulling for Southampton. They were mostly Leeds, Arsenal, Liverpool or just casual fans but on that day they were all Saints. Us Utd fans were near certain that Utd would win and further distance that year we spent in the old 2nd Division. This was to be the cherry on the cake, third in the league and FA Cup winners in our first year back in the top flight! But obviously nobody bothered to tell Southampton. Our mates certainly stuck it to us for months after. Thankfully we exorcised that demon by beating Liverpool 2-1 in the 77 Cup Final. Congratulations to Southampton, they were the better team on the day...I must be mellowing with age because I don’t remember being quite so magnanimous back then.

I was a Stamford Bridge for the semi-final as a Palace fan. We never got a sniff as Southampton squeezed the life out of us, which was so disappointing after a great cup run. Was not surprised to see them beat United.

Saw the game at wembley and the part of the tour through Warren Avenue and played for an English u11 at 8 yrs old in Gibraltar, now in ukraine for 6 years but my memory is 76 I wanted saints to win but only one like myself were Man U fans. I got shit but it did not matter who won because I moved to Portsmouth and had so much sh.t being a "Scummer"🤣 Thanx 4 the memories, and I spent time with F A cup winner Linvoy Primus PFC and told him," You want the cup then tell G O'Neil to stay on his feet ( left sided defence as I was), I did my uefa course. Thanx B Stokes, luv'd the grove !

Remember it well. Southern TV presenters all wore Southampton rosettes with "When the Saints" playing in the background ! How dated is that ?! But they were alone as the entire universe thought Man U would walk it. Remember BBC's Nationwide had a 15 minute Cup Final preview Friday evening; 14 minutes on how brilliant Man U were and how they'd win the cup, with a minute to Rodrigues and (was it Channon?) Rodrigues rightfully using his 60 seconds to pan the bias coverage of the BBC. That last laugh must have given him a lot of pleasure

Two wonderful teams in a memorable cup final- shame one had to lose. Football in those days seemed more relevant and hadn’t been taken over by corporate greed- more for the people.

Wasn't Stokes offside? I think VAR, had it been in would've got the lines out. Yes when the FA Cup actually meant something. Now the FA have killed thrir own Competition.
