$400 Four Winns fling roars back to life! Also overheats a few times

I decided to peel away 4 $100 bills to buy this sweet piece of American history. Story goes it shuttled soldiers across the gulf of Mexico during Spanish American war. Anyway, we solved some overheating issues, head gaskets, rebuilt the carb and even got the old girl legal in the process. harboor freight compression tester that I got was off by 30 psi. It reads way lower than actual compression is. I replaced it with craftsman and no issues. Craftsman was accurate. I commented because I saw your compression tester was Pittsburgh, and wanted to let you know that it might be misleading. Nice Belleville lake, been there.

@@Taras953 I ended up getting rid of it and bought a different boat. I’ve used the tester a few times and never saw anything really unexpected but doesn’t really mean anything, could still be off I guess.

Well my feeling on Jet boats are you learn everything in the first week, you buy it, it breaks down, you fix it then you sell it and move onto something else lol. I bought ours for $400, put a few hundred into it and sold it for $800

I have a 94 fling...do you want parts? I have a motor to get rid of....was a good running motor till it overheated and melted the electrical... ill make you a great deal

@@JeepWillysworkshop yeah, can't blame you...I melted the wiring off of mine and swapped in a gsxr750 motor with all the mods to make that work...not quite finished yet...but considering scrapping the boat in favor of a lighter hull to land the pump and such into

@@davepowell001 we had our fun with it, everything is so cheap we ended up buying a bigger boat and got rid of the Fling, it served its purpose and we had time to thing about something different. We had it out prolly 12 times, only overheated twice lol.

I do, how much for impeller assembly?

@@wearzymaan1541 sorry, no impeller...it is in a jet boat configuration. Its just the powerhead with the wet exhaust plate on the lower side of the motor. If interested for parts, let me know
