Nice video... it’s amazing to see this actually! If you go back to early 2017 videos I told Tim about Maschio and Tim responded, “never heard of them, where are they from”. I’m a huge fan of Maschio and own several implements of theirs, a Bufalo 300, Gemella 620, G tiller 350 and an Admiral disc. The Maschio folks know me well. Their products are just built so well. Their quality and performance supersede anything made in the USA...sadly.

There was a time when American factories did everything in house just like this factory does, heck Ford used to even produce all the steel used in their vehicles they built. On those parts they were heating and bending, they do that to not lose the temper of the steel. That is why they check the color constantly. If they cold pressed it, the steel would fracture, so heating it allows the steel to bend, and by no over or under heating it, helps maintain its temper. Pretty cool they do it all in house too. The one stamping machine was putting a blade edge on, which is faster than trying to grind an edge, and less wasteful. Cool tour.

This was an interesting tour. Did you ever think when you started this channel you'd be in Italy someday. The cap part reminded me of a brain fart we had years ago. Our company was called to bid a job at Komatsu America Corporation. Little did I know Japanese companies require wearing caps, not hardhats just ballcaps. We show up without caps so they offered us some, thinking they were just being nice we put em in the truck... We didn't get the job. lol

Manufacturing processes are always fastening. I spent 20 years plus making large steel truck wheels. Watching the forming, bending and being involved with quality control made me feel connected to the products we made. I still will inspect truck wheels for where and when it was made. I sometime think that I probably touched the wheels back many moons ago. Thanks for taking us along.

I have been dreaming of the day I could see a factory tour of Maschio and how they make flail mowers. At this point I think you have topped every single other channel out there on KZbin covering tractors and equipment. I was already a subscriber of your channel but now I am fan! My hats off to you man, you're doing what no other content creator in this space has dared to do. Keep up the good work! I want to add in that I believe this is the very first video of it's kind. You have made the very first video of a factory tour of a flail mower and implement manufacture and uploaded it to KZbin.

Safety Sam here...interesting how the "progressive" european countries don't require the draconian safety measures that we have in the U.S. like safety glasses. I still love metal forming and fabricating!
@1001ewaste
@1001ewaste 2 жыл бұрын
There is a mix of PPE being used from what I noticed although it's not the blanket everyone wearing identical PPE including hard hats and goggles etc. Draconian safety measures often arrive from litigation and subsequent costs incurred. If your employees don't need to sue you for every little accident to cover medical costs and loss of earnings things don't need to be as 'draconian'. You'll obviously be aware of how comparatively unionised European manufacturing is, often with works councils have representation on the board.
