The age when we used to look at these devices objectively has long passed. People don't buy the expensive iphones and Samsung Notes because they need "a phone". It's juwelery, it's a fashion statement, a status symbol. Luxury. If you just need a phone that works there are amazing options that are just as good, but only cost half or even less compared to the XS iphones. It's psychology. There are a lot of people out there that can't afford any status symbols like expensive watches, sports cars, fancy suits etc. But if they save up they can get an shiny iphone. At that point, features really don't matter. There are 10'000$ watches that aren't any better at telling displaying time as a 5$ watch. But people want those expensive watches just the same or even more. It's very apparent with this new generation of iphones that that's where Apple is going because the prices are totally detached from the actual value of the device. And I think people will eventually realize this. The really mean part about it is that people are "trapped" in the eco system and it's probably a hard transition for people to get out of it?

Actually, the Pocophone F1 is the faster phone with openings apps and games...also it multitasks better as tested by other KZbinrs. The Pocophone also vastly outlasts the iPhone XS Max on battery life...Also, I would not pick the 64GB version of the Xs Max, but pick either the 128GB or 256GB model as there is NO expendable memory on the iPhone, making the price go up by a few hundred bucks. Sure, the points the iPhone loses on (sometimes even miserably) are also points an Galaxy S9 might lose to! Only difference is that an S9 costs 550 USD and an Xs Max costs ~1400 USD...

Whether its a faster phone in opening apps, it only makes a few seconds difference.Its not end of the world or something. The XS max even though with a 1000 mAh battery difference is seriously efficient though. Yeah i agree that it dosent have an expandable slot. Overall the Xs max is still a very good phone but its price to performance ratio isnt very good.

Easy, MPx aren't everything :D. MPx just give it detail, but that sensor can be washed out, have a lower FOV etc. I am not saying that this is the case here since both are very respectable Sony sensors, but believe me that the IMX363 on the back is better :)

The XR is similar to the XS. The XR doesn't have as good of a camera and the screen is abysmal in terms of resolution (no oled either). Otherwise they have the same specs. The bezel is also a bit thicker. That screen resolution is the real shit kicker though, very much not wroth 750.

I would suggest in next phone camera´s test to try the Google Camera port, available on the XDA forums. On most phones i´ve tested it on fixes weird sharpening effects and gives overall better dynamic range with it´s better processing, bringing many phones on par with the iPhone X. Some ex. The Nokia 8 Sirocco and 7 Plus, including also the Huawei Nova 3 and many others.

Yes exactly. I don't think it's fair to compare a 400 dollar phone to an 1100 dollar phone. That price tag is not to show off, even though in Apple's products case it is. But still there is more value in higher priced phones, that's why they are priced high in the first place.
