It is crazy that Amazon allows Chinese manufacturers to literally make up their own lumen ratings, knowingly deceiving their customers and making brightness comparisons impossible. These manufacturers typically overstate actual brightness by between 6-20x the actual ANSI Lumen rating. The only lumen rating you can trust is an ANSI Lumen rating. There is a reason why you can buy a "5000 Lumen" projector on Amazon for less than 100 bucks, but a true 5000 Lumen projector will run you several thousand dollars. Shame on Amazon!

I know it a shame I talked with a great many that got trick on these useless projectors. Amazon and eBay continue to let these merchants flood the market with these counterfeit nonsense Projectors.

@@ILEGCINEMAXBLACK I hate to be negative but it doesn't help that those who buy them have no clue what an actual 4000 lumen projector looks like. "I can see images in total darkness (after my eyes adjust): 5-stars!"

Can you recommend a refurb projector? Either 720p or 1280p from eBay. Doesn't matter if it's an Epson, Benq or another brand you've tested. It would be my first projector so I don't want to spend $700 or more for now. Willing to pay $200 max.
