@@dempart5558 also not allowed. Look up chapparal cars, some of them had a big fan under the car to do something like that. All the downforce and no drag.

I think it's a new trend the theory is that with a slight press before the actual braking the pads come closer to the rotors for a more precise and instant braking. As a mechanical engineer I call bullshit

@@vagelispavlopoulos Not a trend. It's called knockback. When cornering, flex in the hub causes the brake rotor to push against the pads and subsequently push the pistons into the caliper. So after a high g corner the driver is lightly tapping the pedal to push the pads back out so there isn't any dead travel in the pedal when arriving in the braking zone.

400 hp from a CA18DET is easy to do. CA18's were used for years over the SR20DET because its a cast iron block and stronger than the SR20DET with a built bottom end.

Respect to your choice but I can’t see any advantages over the sr. More capacity Better head Tons of tuning parts Easier to exceed 400hp Easy and cheap to buy one in decent condition

I understand also your points but here is the following corrections. 1. CA has the better head (4 port). 2. Sub is 1800 but has a stronger block with less issues relating to sleeves and bearings. 3. Condition of imports are dependant on motor, in amy case motors are rebuild with new internals so this point is irrelevant. 4 sr only has more cc's over CA because it was designed to have more low end torque and better fuel economy but that benefit falls away when the CA is capable of more rpms than the Sr head due to designs and updated ecu etc. 5. Proper built CA makes similar power to SR...proven. My CA makes 464whp on pump gas and 1.4 bar (low boost) definitely no slouch...ps i also built SR stroker motors back in the day.
