400w UV lamp Woods Glass.

I bought this as a treat for myself and to add to the collection. This example is of one of the highest wattages ( 400w ). There is a lot of interest in this type of lamp and many of my subs. have these and show them alight, I would say that they give out long wave UV so take care they can cause headaches. Anyway enjoy and check things that light up under the light. This lamp was from UVBrite and cost under £20 a very good seller and well packed, made I would think in China but looks good quality. One last point the lamp states 220-240v this is mis leading as these need a ballast or choke to work do not operate on mains voltage direct the lamp could explode with shards of glass.

I find it odd how no one has made and videos on making woods glass I'd love to make some and make a type C uv led array and a woods glass on

thanks for your nice comments, think I might get a ballast from Alex when I visit him. I was surprised to see that you could see the arc tube with a bright light behind it, thought Woods glass would of been darker but must do the job okay. This lamp looks well made and good value for money.

There used to be a shop in Manchester called cyber dog they he's loads of these lamps in big massive UV light
