Dear Sys, perhaps i got to this video by some analytics. I was introduced to this song by my late daughter when she was a little girl learning Mandarin, she was humming and wording to some tunes she heard somewhere, perhaps KZbin. She has moved on and this song with it's deep meaning moved me to learn the entire song by heart (through translation and phonetics word by word in music video and other backing tracks); and i can even sing it. Albeit i did not have heart to learn enough of the language to speak it fluent enough; i got back to rekindle my learning by thinking logically. But then, positive human emotion and whole brain thinking is much better in learning human skills, agree? Rather than reptilian and monkey brain approach. No wonder I lacked passion in quite a few areas in my life. Too technical and dry, even in arts. The song was from 2007 if not mistaken and had Michael starting with the piano.. to the scene of the woman bleeding from the nose and being diagnosed as terminally ill. It may be coincidental that my girl got diagnosed with brain tumour later on (clival chordoma). With this meticulous steps of detailed explanation, it will really help us to understand more indepth of the melodic conversation that made up the song. Music and emotions help us grow lifelong muscle memories that can be profound. Countless Thanks. Xie Xie.

This is the first of your song videos I've tried. I don't usually enjoy studying song lyrics, but this song was very enjoyable to study, because it filled in numerous gaps in my vocabulary. In many of your videos you say a phrase that I don’t quite understand. It sounds like 看一个li1次。I had thought that maybe you say 看一个一次，or watch each one, but when I go back and relisten I still hear the “L”. What is it that you are saying, please? 谢谢老师。

I think it is 我们来看一个例子。 例子 li4 zi means example. I say this every time before I give an exapmple: let’s look at an example. Thank you
