As a 50 year old man who may or may have not made some we will call questionable choices in my life I can totally relate to this. I’ve been waiting for a liver transplant for 4 years now. Everyday I wake up after being up most of the night wondering what kind of day I will have. As soon as my foot hits the floor I know right away if it’s going to be good or bad. I think I've realized another reason why this (and your other videos, like the Very Strange series) are so satisfying: in everyday life, we try so hard to be considerate of others. We try to accommodate them, and sometimes that means neglecting our own wants and needs. It would be so nice to just...drop that, for a moment, and be needy for a change, and have that be validated. With a lot of other ASMR videos, both the ASMRtist and the viewer are basically equals. In the roleplay, the viewer comes into the spa (or barbershop or café or whatever) with an implied reasonable, polite request, which the ASMRtist fulfills. That's really nice, but these videos are different. The dream engineer (?) starts off annoyed at the viewer. She lists all the things the viewer ate and drank that would throw off the viewer's dream schedule and cause trouble for the engineer. She even accuses the viewer of hating her, and asks if she's a joke to them. But then...instead of going "fuck this and fuck you," she does her best to throw together some dreams anyway. The viewer was totally inconsiderate, and yet the engineer still does her job. It's the same thing in the Very Strange videos. In different videos, the viewer comes in with a head wound, they hiss at the coloar analyst, and they are Medusa. But the poor, put-upon employee in whichever job she happens to have at the time still does her best to give the viewer what they need, even if it's difficult for her. Mira, it's very generous of you to put yourself in that position. And you're very good at pretending to be either annoyed and trying not to show it or out of your depth and trying not to show that, either. Thank you. :)
