The loss of cliff ended the Metallica I love, they had a few good songs after he died, but once his influence ended I never looked back.
@kylec1411 Жыл бұрын
@@nealroberts1973 fair enough but Metallica is doing just fine without you. Life doesn't just stop for everyone when ones lost. I think they have done well for themselves regardless considering cliff was a great writer and player and James doesn't know a note on the guitar but still writes great songs and lyrics. Their influence alone is quite astonishing depending how u look at it. Metallica's music has helped millions of people. Myself included. I don't know that I'd be alive today without some of James influence & lyrics when I was young. Particularly fade to black but also many other great songs. 😀 its hard to imagine a world without them and their influence on metal music.

It's one of the most beautiful songs yet one of the darkest aswell. Having different bands/genres cover this song just proves how brilliant they were for making this music in their early 20s. Might be my favorite song of theirs, but it's a hard decision as I hold much of Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets close to my heart.

Holy shit. I’m a huge Metallica fan and Fade to Black is one of my favorite songs. That was by far on the of the most beautiful and powerful covers of it that I’ve ever heard, and in a very unique way as well!
@carlosnavarro87242 жыл бұрын
I remember growing up and listening to kill 'Em All, I had never heard Metallica and it blew me away! I was around 12 at the time and I was just starting to learn English as a second language. Now that I look back and listen to this song, it still gets me because Even though, I didn't understand the lyrics at that time, the music, the tone, the guitar riffs they told me everything I needed to know about it's message. Great rendition guys!

First time I heard them was in highschool with fade to black album. That opened up me listening to their earlier stuff which was great. Most of the stuff after fade to black just never had the same appeal for me.

The camera work really made that video!! The zooms, circling around the trees, and transition of guitars during the solo between the trees was spot on and added such emotion. I like that they were wearing black, so the forest and guitars stood out more too.

This is how you know the music is breathing. We think that the musician is the living being, but really, the music is the one with a heartbeat, a rhythm, a pulse. The music is the one breathing in and out, and, the music is the one guiding the musician to make it’s heartbeat heard. These musicians feed off of what the music wants, and they are brilliant at feeling that beating pulse. What mastery they have over truly listening to this living soul called music. The music lives. Thank you to the talent that lets the music speak.

This rendition of Fade to Black made me feel totally oposite to what the original did. For me, the original is a goodbye letter to life. And this version sounds so cheerful/upbeated and I personally don't like asosiating those feelings/sensations with this song. Yet, what you did here is truly beautiful. A perfect example of how timbre/instrumentation, intention and interpretation of the same piece can bring a huge palette of feelings. This is definitively a cover I will show my students whenever I need them to understand how they can manipulate and mold the music with their emotions.
