I assume the small numbers are due to the census only counting actual people, perhaps only actual members of the tech priests. it's certain they're are 10-100 times that in servitors

Is it odd that the most vexing thought invoked by this data-vid entry from my mind is: Does the tale of St. George and the (Void) Dragon confirm that The EMPEROR once went by the name of George? I never understood how the Warp Storms affected trade between Terra and Mars. I mean you don't use Warp to get between the planets (I believe Warp is done at system's edge). I like to think that the presence Void Dragon is why Mars is so focused on technology.

A warp storm can keep people just stuck on a planet too, see DOW1 for an example, or throw one into the warp altogether, they vary widely in type and size, unpredictable like the warp itself fittingly.

They are now doing test on Ork's at least; we have seen them studying a trapped Ork Psyker & were forced it to generate a WHAGH field, it was seen as a "false WHAGH" by the other Ork Psykers; if they can figure it out they could then it thery reverse-engineer all Ork tec. ....its not going to happen... that being said would open up a way fix a lot of problems the Imperium is having

I honestly think humans have their own WHAGH! field it's just a lot more subtle than the Krorks since the old ones didn't weaponize ours, but the machine spirits and our effect on the warp seems to point in that direction.
