Okay true, Gaunt is pretty much the Tanith First and Only as much as anyone else. I wouldn't call it a cheat given what's happened to Armageddon too, I suppose it's just a matter of perspective.

Late answer: He doesn't want it. He was actually offered retirement multiple times, even offered effectively a paradise world to command over. He refused because of his hatred of Orks. He would not stop until Gazgull was dead, and at this point, he's practically immortal (he's around 125 years old, but is physically less than 60). He's the unofficial Ork God of Death and Fear.

I think that's a bit different, kinda apples to oranges, with the eye of terror planets. Cadia isn't a world that has civilians living on it. Also Cadia was never turned into a half daemon world.

EchoTheBM What the shit are you talking about. Ullanor, Armageddon is the ork homeworld. Thats the reason that Gork and Mork keep having Orks go back there- as well as why it was the center of their empire and why they are not able to reach theit Beast level threat again. After their planet was taken, the imperium wanted to destroy it but the mechanicus squirelled it away- assuming that the orks would not have any way of finding it because orks. It is the homeworld, and that is why, for example, three whole legions including the Lunar Wolves needed the Emperor himself to save them. All orks on ullanor are naturally more deadly. Imagine a planet of Orks- where the snotlings are actually stronger and smarter than your average ork. The orks of that planet will be even bigger and... As ironic as it may seem.... Smarter. At least tactically. To a level that can rival Horus.

Lets just the both of you relax, I know I should leave you guys be but this is crazy. First, no the Beast was not smarter than Horus he underestimated them after having previous experience with smaller ork war bands which due to the size of the war band had a low intelligence level. But that being said orks have demonstrated that they can have a remarkable level of intelligence, some have even given imperial tacticians a run for their money as showcased with the Iron Ork Gazguhl Mag Uruk Thrakka. Even shown in the ork ambassador that teleported into the highs lords chamber and discussed the terms of surrender for the human race. Second, no Ullanor is not the "home world" of the ork race, they actually don't have one as they were created by the old ones in the war in the heavens orks today are the evolution of the Krorks. There were several surviving Krorks from the war in the heavens and they came to be known as the Prime Orks, thats why they were larger more intelligence and pretty much better at being orks than orks. Third, yes there are ork empires but they are not what we would call empires they are clans the the goffs, snake bites those guys, they are losely assembled tribes of orks under one banner that WWWAAAAGGGGHHHH! together. Finally its a fucking fantasy universe lets all just shut up and go back to painting our models, thank you for your time in reading this long comment I hope i cleared up the problems.

Correction the emperor took part in the cleansing of the orks and horus saved the emperor

That was the Battle of Gorro, rather than the Ullanor Crusade; Emps was being choked and Horus hacked the offending Ork's arm off. I'm not sure if the Emperor actually saw ground combat on Ullanor, if I'm being totally honest, but there's definitely no mention of him needing saving.
