40th Season Harvesting in Carlow With Two Identical Fortschritt Combines!!

So I came across these two combines and just had to record them harvesting.. Turns out they've got a third identical Fortschritt E514 Combine in the shed ready to be rolled out if they need it!

Saw them in your yard one day recently. My heart jumped. Reminds me of my father and his two brothers. They started with horses. They were among the first with combines. One day I hope to honour their legacy. You inspire me to persevere until we get there.

Often saw these 2 combines working in the 90s, so nice to see them still working and also that they have not being replaced by plastic machines...

These were built in what was then East Germany and were about the biggest combine available then. I remember climbing all over a new one on display in Wellingtonbridge Co.Wexford in November 1981 at the World Ploughing Championship. I wonder if it was one of these two.

Wow; never heard of these beasts before. German mechanisation and its reliability goes back decades. I fondly remember the MB Trac during my apprenticeship and subsequent years as a tractor mechanic

Worked for mick Fleming in nurney 25 year ago and he had a couple of 514's and 516 I think the green ones he claimed very under rated combine and east fix .

Great to these working I had the 512 for a number of years slow and steady and cheap as chips, simple machine. Always faced a pair of them.

Cracking video, back in early 90s back home in Slovakia they had 7 of these on local farm. 2 of them mdw in pea green livery and 5 others where in khaki colour. Blue ones are export versions. There is still few of these in England.

My father used to repair these things at a dealership in Holland in the 70's and i never heard a positive story from him about these combines. And even then there were no parts availlable and compared to a Claas or a New Holland combine it was like going 20 years back in time.
