Traveling to South Africa and hunting has always been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, and this past season I was able to make that wish a reality as a couple buddies of mine (John "JC" Christopher and Brian Burkley) and I head to Sandstone Safaris in Limpopo, South Africa.
The trip did not disappoint as we were able to tag 41 animals, mostly plains game, in 10 days of hunting and I was able to have one of the most rememberable days of bowhunting of my career as I downed 4 animals in one day over one waterhole, including a world class kudu.
The trip ended on a high note with two HUGE Cape buffalo kills.

I enjoy getting out to hunt animals around the region that I live in but I don’t think I could live with myself creating so much carnage in such a short amount of time in someone else’s back yard. I hope all of you can justify what you’re doing and be proud of yourself. God bless you all studs!
@7979Army

You definitely wouldn’t want to see the “carnage” the government paid us to do to bring down populations in one area. Think 923 animals in 14days from raccoons, opossums and culled 270 deer. Oh yeah and the deer weren’t allowed to be used in any form or fashion, they were taken to off to a dumb site. That was a lot of meat wasted that could’ve went to people in need. Seriously I highly doubt ya even hunt just by your wording. These guys have the money to take full advantage of a 10day trip.

@edwardpape5819
@edwardpape5819 9 ай бұрын
@@johnelkins4250 The "feeding the villagers" line is a myth. In other African (Safari destination) countries it may happen but in South Africa it [might] feed the client/hunters and maybe the camp staff, but the rest is processed and sold. Sometimes, depending on what is taken, the client won't even get to eat meat from his own trip. You can kill lots of animals in South Africa, but it's all put-and-take operations behind fences, and not really hunting.

Awesome hunts and footage. One question: why are the animals not field dressed in the field?
@MyWorldOutdoorsYT
@MyWorldOutdoorsYT Жыл бұрын
For 1, the animals innards are used and eaten (even the watched them taking grass out of stomachs to use the stomach and intestines as casings) and 2 when u open up the animals, you expose the internal cavities to the air and that’s when they start growing bacteria, the longer they can stay closed, the longer it can keep …
@medi0cregameplay193

in addition to what they said. Would YOU want to field dress and animal outside in Africa? scent doesnt take long to travel and you can never tell whats around you. Even lions as big as they are have a chance to literally be close enough to sniff your sweat covered balls and you wouldnt even know it

@@MyWorldOutdoorsYT Is one of the reasons you’re allowed to hunt these exotic” animals is for population control? Like hunting whitetails because there is less coyotes to control them since people these days are keeping predator population low because they find coyotes scary and such,which makes the herbivore population go up too much?

Yes, the outfitter has fees for each of the animal if you kill. You can buy "packages" for a set of animals to go after and save some $ as oppose to paying for them individually. The skulls, hides and horns are shipped later.

I guess it's a US customs thing. We cant bring meat or food back in any form. And the process to get the heads and horns home is a daunting one that requires many "official" brokers to clean and handle the hides/horns before they can be brought state side.

To kill animals at waterholes are not fair every person or animal need water. Walk and hunt it in the open.

Killing a kudu from the truck aught to be illegal. But to each their own.

In South Africa? Lol yeah there’s no such thing as illegal

In south Africa it's not illegal you can choose to shoot is from the pickup or on foot most Americans do on foot

@tiaanvantonder9860 I know it isn't illegal but it doesn't seem right. It's not like it was a "meat" hunt. Shooting from the truck isn't hunting, it's killing. Just my opinion

Josh most people like kids or elderly who cant walk long distances its necessary to shoot from pickup

@tiaanvantonder9860 I get it. These gents are neither elderly nor children. I was just stating my humble opinion. I understand that things are done differently in other places. I appreciate the civil conversation.

Unfortunately,some bad choices were made,regarding trophy choices,and also shooting the rifle from the blind...unbecoming of a ethical P.H.

Sorry but most will not allow you to shoot from vehicle. Not sporting.

Sometimes, that is the only way you can actually take an ethical shot. The bushveld has a very thick, tall bush and grass. So, without elevation, you would be making blind shots and wounding animals. It's sometimes used like a makeshift blind where you just stop and wait.

Now is this guy just keeping the head and hide for taxidermy trophies???

There's 3 of us hunting in the video, and we all kept heads and hides for "trophies", we ate meat from the hunt while there, the rest (literally every shred of meat) was distributed to locals, and if we could have, we would have brought all the meat home but we're not allowed to (US rules).

Impressionante, asquerosa e nojenta a covardia de determinados ricaços ao escolherem essa forma de divertimento. As autoridades, mundial, têm de se envergonhar por ainda permitirem que ricaços explorem essa atividade corrompendo países pobres de África.
