Elevator mechanic here. The microprocessor disconnects are great especially for when you have battery lowering on an elevator. Great video

Keep this up, sir. I’m fairly new to the trade, and I have used your channel as a learning tool since day one. I’ve learned so much from you and just wanted you to know that your work here is appreciated.

great job explaining this topic. i have to do my first shunt trip this week. i planned on using 24VDC from AUX POWER from my Fire Warden panel sense i am not using it for anything else to run power through my FRM to my RIB relay to trigger it and my 120 will be going through my RIB relay to the shunt trip breaker. I think i will try and use your method and run 120 through the FRM to the RIB relay sense there is little to no current draw next time. I just got nervous thinking about running 120 through my addressable relay but it makes sense why you would do it that way, thanks again for the sweet vids man!

The aux power circuit would work too, it's possible some companies prefer that method. To me though, you'd have to supervise that 24 volts AND the 120 volts, so you'd need extra parts.

I'm incredibly lazy with this series. I have the next video almost done, and yet I can bring myself to sit and finish it when it's nice outside.
