Anchor bay was an excellent choice to hit right now with them moving in towards shore. The grass is never ending out there too. All the way from the northern most point of anchor bay all the way through the Detroit river into lake Erie the grass is obscene most days. Another spot I've had tremendous luck in is right at the mouth of the St Clair river in the channels that cut through the grass flats around this time of year. Good variation in depth from 4ft all the way 30+ in the channels. You guys definitely have to go back again. Do an announcement ahead of time if so and I'll come out and point out some hot spots you guys didn't get close to and maybe do a Todays Angler vs Catching Giants challenge or something. Currently editing 9 videos to premier on my channel later this week. Will be shooting all 3 days up there this week as well. Hoping to have as good a day as you guys did. So cool.

Does anyone know how possible it'd be to catch a Muskie from one of the "just-inland" lakes that feed into Lake Michigan (in the "middle of the West Coast" -- i.e., between Ludington and Muskegon)? I used to do a fair amount of panfishing when younger and healthier, with the occasional jaunts into the woods where I knew of a tiny creek with very tasty native Brook Trout (of then-legal size). I'm now in my seventies, in very poor health (crippled up by a doped-up driver about thirty five years ago), and now that I can buy a fishing license for a pretty much token price, well, I wish it was easier for me to go fishing. As for _hunting,_ forget about it! It's been decades since I've been able to tolerate sitting outside in the winter. My son wants me to take him deer hunting, but that's gonna have to be his uncle's job. TIA for any decent info for a "meat angler" especially Oceana or Mason Counties.

Nice tiger musky!! There is a river that runs below my house that a about 20 years ago my grandpa has caught 3 muskys out of it. Over the years I have tried everything to catch a musky myself. This summer I'm going to try even harder and fish more often. I have tried bottom fishing with trout heads and guts. I have bought a big AC shiner that is bright green with a treble hook and tentacles like the lure similar to what you are using in this video and its specifically for musky and tried it. I have done my research on musky fishing and have my pole set right with braided line and steel liter. My biggest dream as a fisherman is to catch a musky. I've caught all the other dream fish that I wanted to catch except a damn musky. Wish me luck this summer to catch one! I see they hit lures more than dead bait so I'm going to try my AC shiner and buy more different lures and try them!

Muskies fear very little, they are the apex predator, so a little screaming wont scare em. I had one keep attacking my live net (was bluegill fishing with nothing capable of landing a muskie) I bopped him a couple times with my rod tip and he still kept coming back
@killemall19836 жыл бұрын
I disagree with the comments below. At least for tigers. I have had tigers about to strike right at the edge and if you either move too fast or make a noise they bolt and never come back.
@bassproat176 жыл бұрын
All musky will do that from time to time. Keep your lures deeper as you come to the boat. I feel it happens when water gets to clear like it does here on Clair, if they're gonna eat they'll eat, if you feel the water is clean make a conscious decision to keep your baits coming in lower under the surface and I guarantee you it will put more fish in the boat. I caught all my fish in the 8 this video and in the weeks leading up i was telling the people i was with i was fishing for follows, speeding it up 5 to 10 feet from the boat and burning that first turn put a lot of fish in the boat for me!

I've never caught one, but wouldn't mind. Caught a few Pike over the years, and a nice Walleye -- once (the best tasting freshwater fish I've ever had!) There's a lake not too far from me -- "Bass Lake" -- that was at one point stocked with Tiger Muskie (a sterile hybrid between Muskie and Pike, put into the lake to eat through the bluegill overpopulation). I don't know if they're still being used there.

Where were you guys talking about coming down to Indiana at? I was just curious I live in Indiana and don't know if you would consider it but would love to go out and learn more about Musky fishing. I've caught probably eight or nine in the last couple years on Lake Webster but I was not targeting muskie. I was using big baits targeting big bass and getting smashed. I probably missed 15 or more musky the last three times I was out on top water. My interest comes from my uncle who passed away of leukemia and he used to take me. Probably a dumb question to ask you guys since your more big time but you don't know unless you ask. It would be awesome to see you guys in action and hopefully get a couple of my own.

what I've noticed when u do the figure eights that u get way more strikes when the rod isn't so far in the water when u got over a foot of the rod in water that just literally shows that muskie that something is off but when u keep the rod on tip an barely in the water like about 2 inches or less they will def snap at way more because that rod in water I feel if they are old enough there smart they won't hit it. Then if they do its usually the young ones or smaller u may get lucky an get one here and there but noticed when I keep rod out of water as much as possible I get a bit most of the time if they come close to boat.
