Dreamers is one of my favorite Ateez’s songs. The MV is so beautiful, I love the colors, the places, and the guys look so amazing (4:42 I love this shoot so much, it melts my heart every single time)… I’m sorry there’s no Mingi because it would have been even more perfect. But still love Dreamers so much: it improves my day every time I listen to it.

This song is much better live because their vocals really shine. For Dreamers, they may be catering to that market or perhaps because it was for Digimon--their Japanese songs do tend to have less of an edge. That said, it was a grower for me and is on my summer songs playlist.

I think this is the only song recording that does not have a version with Mingi in it, which is kind of sad, I wish they re-recorded with Mingi. They have performed it live many times though and Mingi does have a part in the live performance. I've never checked to see if he just takes over Seonghwa's part or has a whole verse of his own or not though. Something that makes me love this music video that is kind of hidden is the fact that during the shoot for this music video, Mingi joined the boys but stayed off camera and behind the scenes. Mingi went on hiatus in November 2020. This music video was shot in May 2021 on Jeju Island. Mingi had not made any public appearances in that time, but he was spotted joining the boys on an unknown flight to Jeju in May. There was no announcement at the time of what they were doing and why Mingi joined. Later we learned they were filming this video and Mingi joined off camera to ease himself back into being around the work they do. I think you can really tell in the atmosphere of this video that all the boys were so much happier to have Mingi back around, even if only behind the scenes. It's like this video has an air of so much more happy and hopeful to it. Mingi officially returned 2 months later, thankfully. That being said though, I think it is such a beautiful song and seeing rapper Seonghwa is really exciting.

Seonghwa still has his first set of rap lines, but Mingi and Hongjoong split the second raps when he's there.
