420 FTL - Part 1/2

This is the 420 FTL video, a redesign from the old 360 FTL design that me and Rechenmachine worked on. The detailed descriptions of the redesign will have another video following with world download and litematic. This cannon works only for Minecraft versions 1.12.2 and any version below. For all future versions above 1.12.2, look further down at Fallen Breaths video.

Actualy, most of the Scicraft members have a degree in computer science. One of them (ragou) is even a scientist at CERN (that machine that found the higs boson), but he still chooses to play minecraft instead. Gosh I wonder why we haven't cured cancer yet

Dank. What are the specs (blocks per tick, accuracy, time from throw to launch, etc.)? Lovely project though.

Almost all locations is reachable within 2-3 ticks. from throw to destination comes out at 195 ticks max meaning 10 sec. Server lag can add to that but carpet optimizations reduce the lag to zero. Some of the speed the pearl can reach is around 100-5000 b/tick. It's all dependent on what angle your shooting the pearl and how fast you want to go.

What kind of PC do you have? I am a TNT canon guy and I had to pause my 10000 block TNT cannon project. The canon needs at the moment a little less than 1min to load all the explosion and the TNT projectile literally disappeares. I am at a little less than 2k TNT exploding on one spot. Any tips?

I use carpet optimizations that help with the calcuations. Generally my pc is a potato though. In vanilla tnt isn't all that optimized and lags alot.

I have a potato pc and it's possible to use the cannon. Carpet helps alot optimizing the tnt explosions to not make the server crash as well.

When you say "angles" does that mean the total number of destinations that it could go to (distance + angle) or just the number of angles? Also this makes me want to see a Hekate world tour even more!

Its all the number of possible angles. It practically means you can reach any point in your world with accuracy of under a block sometimes.

its just a word play on the 360 FTL. In realistic speeds the cannon can hit Mach 1.5 ish before server crash, in minecraft terms its faster than light.

It exists except Mojang hates chunk loading. Convince Mojang then look up fallen breaths FTL heavy. Optionally mod in a fix where pearls don't need chunkloading.
