We have many Dake presses at work and you are right about the quality. I ordered some ratchet pawls and they wore down in a week!! The original pawls lasted 30 years! Don’t know what they think cast iron is but it isn’t what it used to be when made in USA. Chinesium materials! Who knows what it’s made of. Crap!

Even with the press you still need that bearing install kit.

Press is very handy.

As long as it presses squarely and it’s a decent machine yes they are very handy otherwise they’re totally useless. Jim

"must be every time they actually sell one they raise the price" lol I purchased one of these (6-ton version) and I should have it in a few days. I anticipate some serious modification time.

I've never had a press or even used one but from what I can tell from a video that one looks pretty good, especially after you made improvements but one thing I definitely don't like, and I'm not sure why it would even come that way, is that the jack can just slide in and out like that. Is there a particular reason why it would be designed that way? It looks like an accident waiting to happen. Other than that it looks pretty solid. 👍

I'm about 22 minutes in so far and it's interesting that you mentioned how you don't like the color orange, lol 😆. Do you have any idea why you don't like it? Personally I like the color orange. I'm not sure why, maybe it's because I connect orange with Halloween, pumkins, oranges and Harley-Davidson, all of which I like, also fire 🔥. Green has always been the color that I never liked much but over the years I've learned to like certain shades of it on certain things. I remember one of my uncles had an olive drab green car back in the mid 70s, maybe a Plymouth Duster or something, can't really remember now, but I thought it was the ugliest car I'd ever seen. It's funny because I used to get a lot of green clothes growing up because it was one of my parents favorite colors 😑. I couldn't stand most of them and didn't wear them often. I think the reason I never liked green was because when my mother would take my sister and I to church back in the early 70s when I was weee years old they would hand out suckers when we left and I never could stand green, lime flavored anything. I'm not sure about that but it's my best theory, lol, but I loved the cherry and black licorice flavored suckers I'd get from time to time.

Well, I am with you with the lime green yuck. I don’t know I guess because I like other colors better I just never been to partial to orange, although I love Halloween my favorite holiday. Jim
