so peter "died" then but later he came back and they said he was in witness protection...

he thought that peter was dead. The cops visited the barn after they heard a complaint about the gunshots they looked at the body and it wasnt peter it was his attacker and Peter got to the station very much alive and thats when Dan saw him. The episode is 4296 and 4297 is also important. :-)

yes Peter was given a drug that puts him into a coma. He was put into witness protection because people were after him. Those people kidnapped his son Drew and sent pictures to witness protection because they found out that Peter was alive. Peter cam back when he found out what was going on. He shoved Drew into a car and took him to a barn but when he explained to Drew what happened and finally got him outside a car came out of no where and they sent Drew running. Drew heard a gunshot and
