Maybe I got the maths wrong, but I calculate it as 130,000 pounds Tippy lost. 40,000 to Meredith, but the table takes 6 +12+24+48 = 90,000 pounds. So the total is 130,000 pounds

Okay, I retract my previous comment because it seems even the people making this film flubbed the math. Here's what I got now: Wager w/ Meredith: $5000 + $10,000 + $20,000 +$40,000 = $75,000 Table bet: $6000 + $12,000 + $24,000 + $48,000 = $90,000 Grand total lost by the coke fiend: $165,000 I was wrong initially (I think). But how the writer did the math and landed on $40,000 is beyond me. Lol
