Good pistol to have on hand. I have had my 44 mag Ruger Super Black Hawk for years. Will never sell it. I used to take it with me when I went camping for self protection against big animals like a bear.

It's why I carry a .44 mag as my woods defense gun. Of course he could sight in for a proper shot, defensive shooting is a different scenario but it does prove shot placement with an adequate round COUNTS. It gives me great confidence to hike anywhere in the woods. Good hunt thanks for the video.

If you watch the video completely you will see another bear appear after the shot on the first bear. This is not the bear shot, it is a different bear. With any animal it is very important not to push or rush a retrieval. An animal can exert adrenaline and run for a long time causing diminishing blood trails. It's best to distinguish where the shot was and then make the judgement call on how long to give the animal. This animal was deceased in less than 30 seconds.

I am a known speciality bullet inventor specifically for hunting with black powder revolvers and pistols. Based upon my knowledge, experiences with ballistics and hunting in the USA and Europe, I concour with your statement as even with using high powered rifles for hunting animals especially Apex predators, the animals often do not expire right there on the spot. They often go a ways in a "Death run". The 44 magnum cartridge in a revolver as was in the Ruger Super Redhawk used in this Black Bear hunt was totally sufficient, proportional to quickly dispatch the Black Bear.

Fantastic Video!!! I use my Remington 700 BDL bolt action 30-06, 180 gr. With a 3x9 Redfield scope (Rectangular with a zoom lever). But in thick brush my trusty Marlin 45-70 300gr lever action rifle. I;ve been very close to bear. REAL Close. But my license was for deer. In any event I was happy that I had the above rifles when I encountered bear. Thanks so much for your video. Beautiful country. I have just bought a Rossi 92 in 44mag..But baiting and shooting a Bear is definitely not something I would do..I think just seeing it in the wild would be exciting enough..

I am in my early thirties. I am looking at getting into hunting in the near future. Did a few trips with a buddy of mine and it is a good time. I am not really into bear hunting. Prob will just stick to deer. Glad the 44mag worked out for you. I would rather do the hunt and harvest myself. This is much more humane than supporting the industry that puts meat on the shelves.

Edward Swanzey..I have a Marlin 45-70 lever action...It takes 300-400 gr. rounds. I love it. A wonderful brush rifle. My second love is my customized Remington 700 BDL. 180gr on that bad boy. Took some nice deer with that. My point being is that I love to hunt!! I was introduced to it at a young age. And I grew a healthy respect for the forests where I hunt. Not many people are as lucky as I am to see mother nature at it's best. I love the outdoors...I enjoy my firearms. And I love my beautiful country America. Be Well Ed. Only a small group of retards think a .44 mag won't kill a bear. Most of them are a small section hillbillies who will tell you that bullets will bounce off their hide and that bears have magic powers. They tend to get very offended and indignant when you show them videos like this one. There have been black bears that have been brought down by .22 rifles. Not saying you should ever hunt bears with a .22, but a .22 can penetrate flesh and if it can penetrate flesh it can kill, albiet slowly at times.

I like hunting but not trophy hunting. If you eat the animal fine. If the animal has gone rogue and is a danger to human then fine. Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!!
