Learn how to paint an easy winter scene. In this acrylic tutorial, I share how to paint a realistic winter landscape and walk you step by step how to mix your colors to create a beautiful realistic snow scene.
After the initial layer in acrylic I paint over it with oil paint to enhance the depth and color to create a more realistic painting. We live in the desert Southwest. We have had one month of 90's and 100's F. This looks like something we can cling to. The heat has burned the virus out so we are happy. Slowly we are getting back to what it was before March. Your fruit looks so real I feel like I could pluck one off the canvass. Yum.

Sweet looking painting! I absolutely love how you achieved that bokeh effect as the blurry background. Also great tip for the non-toxic Walnut Alkyd medium for oils to speed up drying time as opposed to Liquin that is toxic. I will have to try that for sure! Tiffany, okey now I know where you shine. After watching the colored pencil on black paper, I came here. I , too, love oil, it is immediate, quick results. With colored pencil, you gradually build up the color, it's completely different, as you well know. The cherries are ready for the birds to pluck them off for a tasty treat. Wow! First, I like your pinky mahl. ( I had to look up what that was) Your attention to detail is impressive. I couldn't figure out why the red tint in the snow then it hit me, it's not as thick. (I need to quit watching your videos. I don't think my forehead can take anymore slaps of realization ☺) The time you took on the out of focus areas was well worth the effect.
