Yes, I know Wilson doesn’t make kip gloves. Definitely top 3 worst brainfart moment in my life.

Great comp. That A2K is just stupid nice. I find brand new A2Ks are very stiff from the factory. Bought two June 2022 Wilson GOTM. Broke one in and it took some work and time. Couldn’t squeeze either anywhere near as much as yours when I bought them. Keeping the other deadstock. Think you’re probably correct about lots of people trying it at Charlie Rose and that affecting things.

Was the glove handled a bunch before I landed it? Probably. Do I care? Not at all. Like you said, this glove is unreal. I can’t wait to break it in just enough to play catch comfortably. I don’t plan on using this too much, though

Another good video. Since you've purchased so many custom gloves and worked on so many others, I think it would be a great idea to do a video (or preferably, a series of videos) on giving advice for how to build a good custom glove. Also, since 44 Pro, Marucci, Rawlings, Akadema, etc. all have different builders and options, it would be helpful for us in the "Glove Community," to get some tips and guidelines for builders with different (and sometimes seriously limiting) options.

yeah for my handsdown the best model for 44 is the 574 its like the pro 200 from rawlings and the only defects you should see is either tightening the leather too much or scuffed up laces which arent that big of a deal

I just got my 44 pro (pro 44 model) a few weeks ago and when I unboxed it there was a palm bubble on the palm near the ring finger. The glove I got dual welting but the finger strips were uneven. Some of the strips where not straight and not centered on the finger.
@914ballgloves8
@914ballgloves8 2 жыл бұрын
Dude that sucks! I’m sorry your glove isn’t the best it could’ve been. Unfortunately ring finger bubbles are the most common, and can even be found on higher end gloves. I made a video a couple years ago about removing palm bubbles, maybe that’ll help!

Would the Wilson a2k work for 2nd base and outfield?
@914ballgloves8
@914ballgloves8 Жыл бұрын
How do you mean? There are many different models, A2K is just the leather type. For 2B and Outfield you're going to need 2 different gloves. They are very different positions. For 2B you want a smaller glove, around 11.25 to 11.75 inches, and for outfield you need at least a 12.25 for it to be the most functional.

@@LAMBOMETS To be fair, I bought this at a brick and mortar store, so people have probably tried it on dozens of times which may slightly affect the stiffness. Not by that much though. 44 gloves are garbage. Horribly fitting and terrible break-in. Pitchers use them because they don't field the ball; works with 44's marketing gimmick. I have 2 and both are worthless.
@914ballgloves8
@914ballgloves8 Жыл бұрын
I have to disagree. While I do feel bad that you don’t like your gloves, I don’t think they’re necessarily garbage. They may not just be for you. 44’s tend to be inconsistent nowadays, thanks to their high demand and inefficiency to keep up with their order volume. But I like all my 44s, in fact I’ve been using one of them the most for the past 3 years and it’s the best break-in I have on all my gloves. As for their “gimmick” I think they normally sign pitchers because they typically get the most screen-time out of most players on the field. No, 44s aren’t better than Rawlings to Wilson, but for their price and their customization options it makes for a different experience that typically newer generations like.

@@914ballgloves8 credible reply...thank you. But like you said, the older gloves might have been good, but the two I bought for my kid and myself are Frankenstein's. As if they were built out of 4 or 5 dissimilar gloves. I've got Rawlings, Wilson, Marucci, Easton....no problems. The 44 feels like putting a dead possum on your hand. 44's ownership told me to pound sand as they were made to spec. I can't even give them away they are so bad...not that I would do that to anyone. My point of all of this is that you can buy Rawlings and Wilson for the same price on Amazon if you look for deals. I rarely pay retail and paid $260 for a Pro Preferred...brand new. Thanks again. Appreciate your time for the reply.
