Really enjoy this sermon, I love how Baucham is so practical and straightforward. He doesn't try to slide his way through or trick others into belief. That said, the part of this speech around the dating of the New Testament is off a bit. We do not have a full manuscript of the New Testament that is only a "few decades" after the death of the apostles. The earliest full manuscript dates to around 350 CE. There are full manuscripts of individual books of the New Testament that date to the 200s. What he's referring to as 120 CE is a very small piece of one of the books. So there is some period there of possible obscurity. It does not diminish the message, nor the reality, but some of the more aggressive teachings around things like the Trinity, etc. are more aligned with later years than they are with the early apostles. Still this is an amazing talk we should not be afraid to embrace.

He is not ready to share the word with anyone. They talk circles around him & he agree,s with the sinful things they say. He needs guidance. Hes not ready. Thank you.

Reading it cover to cover is a totally different thing than hearing random sermons and various Bible studies. Too, studying it with resources that explain context, cultural norms at the time, and able to explain various word definitions and translations……is completely different than just reading. The Bible is so rich and deep, layer upon layer of application, a limitless diamond with unending facets. Connections that are amazing, the Bible supporting the truth from every direction. And a new revelation or understanding to fill every 15 minutes of a lifetime of study. I so wish I had studied when I was younger…..I missed so much. But I am so grateful for every single word now.

Extracting bits of Scripture here and bits more there is what watered down Christians and false teachers do to pretend their saved so they can continue their sinful ways. James White is excellent with all things about the Bible. I have watched several of his videos and can’t recall which one answers your questions. I have been learning about the Apocrypha (books left out) and I believe YahWeh is bringing them forward now for a reason. Both Jesus and Paul referred to one of the books. Currently reading the book of Enoch. I have so many questions and I am finding the answers. Voddie is a humble servant of YahWeh that I have had the pleasure to meet. He speaks Truth! I always check his itinerary to see if he will be preaching within driving distance when he is in the States. ❤

Ironically it was Jewish scholars/theologians who complied the Bible's 66 Books. I know the Holy Spirit was guiding them because the Bible is put together perfectly. Quick example: Isaiah has 66 chapters and the Bible has 66 books. Isaiah 40 is about the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Matthew, Book 40, is about Jesus the Messiah here on earth. Complied perfectly and wonderfully.

Priests in the church council. I forget which one. Maybe the one in Nicea. How was a vote. All tbe skeptics of this. Was there a decision written down like the Nicean creed? I hear people talking about old white men forming the church in their image. They were the ones who could read though. Who would we want to make such an important decision?

I love listening to Dr. Voddie, but I have a question...Acts 1 said Matthias was chosen after the ascension. How was he considered one of the 12 Jesus appeared to if he wasn't chosen yet? Did I miss something?

Mathias was part of the 72 discipline Jesus had sent out. The twelve were more of inner circle. So Mathias was at the beginning of Jesus ministry and his death and ascension. I believe St. Pater quoted Psalms where it says let his place be taken by another. So it was actually a command by God that Judas be replaced. PSALM 109: 8

You don't use science to verify an historical event. You use witnesses and evidence for the event having taken place. Very helpful tip! Btw, one piece of science I find to be very helpful on corroborating the claims of Christ and the gospels is the Shroud. Born-again brothers who have dedicated decades to establishing its authenticity, have made the case almost airtight. The image, how it got there, the material, the history of the cloth, the pollen on the cloth, etc is absolutely astounding. I truly think the Lord left this behind as a nod to the skeptics and scientists who insist on "seeing something." Great lecture, 66 books 1 story , and that's taking into account that Protestants took out some books to accomodate to the Pharisees who did not like the Greek Bible (Septuagint) that Jesus often quoted.
