I lucked out as the color palette for Santa Fe is very close to what's I've been doing already; I think all I change is my cell activator colors. I'm still using a new to me pouring medium recipe too and omitting varnish altogether--check out the recipe below! Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:
House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate: PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.
Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe: mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:
Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); and Valspar High Gloss Ultra Base C Untinted base (Lowe's). 50/50. Mix well. NO varnish added!
Brands/Colors mixed:
Pigments: For a 3 oz cup I add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of pigment powder to the cup, then add enough gloss varnish (any brand; I use JoSonja gloss varnish) to cover the powder. Mix well until all pigment is thoroughly wet; then add the pouring medium.
Golden Fluid Acrylics in Iridescent Bright Gold, and Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold. This Little Piggy pigments in Waterfall. Holcroft tube paint in the color Pool Party.
Golden, Atelier, and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics: I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.
For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick I add a squirt of Golden's High Flow Medium (thins and extends acrylic colors) and stir well. All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.
Cell Activator Color: Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Prussian Blue. Approx. 3:1 Floetrol to paint.

I love the hair dryer too!! With regards to technique fatigue, you may try a 12x36. No spinning, just tilt. Lots of space to work with, and very challenging. Would love to see you do it!! Your approach is always so inspiring. 15x30's are fun too. I love vertical art!

Ahh...thank goodness you didn't touch it. I even said out loud " I'll slap your hand if you touch it Karen"! Just beautiful! Those colours! Do you know what I'd love to see you do again? The beautiful cell pours you use to do so long ago. You were the master/mistress of the flip cup. I miss them!

Je le trouve absolument magnifique. Par contre j'aurai mis un cadre noir, je trouve que le noir était très joli autour lorsque vous l'avais mis sur votre table à dessin 😉 I find it absolutely beautiful. On the other hand I would have put a black frame, I find that the black was very pretty around when you had put it on your drawing board

Karen this is more than beautiful, it is fabulous. I agree the color blending and linework makes this piece very special. The floating htame makes it stunning. I adore this color pallette. Tight up my alley for sure. Any suggestions on where to get the convex canvases you use. I have hunted and can't find any eound ones except for a 20 inch one. Hope Santa Fe is productive and fun.
