Black 5 44871 is seen on day 5 of the Great Britain XVI 2024 working Inverness - Kyle of Lochalsh and back, 17/04/2024.
Seen at Fodderty, Loch Gowan, Erbusaig and Achanalt.
A shame she was tender first on the outbound, but I'd got up at 0430 for this so still intended to make the most of it.

Very nice indeed, a rare sight on the Kyle line to see a five, thought it was going to be diesel hauled on that leg . 👍

Thanks Stephen. It's been a good few years. I reckon there would be interest in the Kyle line doing regular trips from Inverness. This one started at £195 in first class just for the Inverness to Kyle return which is very steep even for first class imo. Ive done steam tours from south/Midlands to Kent, north Wales and Scotland for not much more than half that price. Appreciate that was standard class.
