Very true, it is like leaning a new language ...the more you read the codebook the better you will understand how it works. The course above is for advanced level electrical apprentices which have completed two levels to get to this point. After this they will go for the red seal electrical license. .

Good question Goldy, before I answer it ...you don’t always have to increase to the next higher standard size fuse. Dry type transformers ...depending on the manufacturer come in standard sizes of 15kVA, 30kVA, 45kVA, 75kVA etc. Time delay fuses come in sizes of 15A, 20A, 25A, 30A, 35A, 40A, 45A, 50A, 60A, 70A, 80A, 90A, 100A etc. So, there isn’t many dry type transformer sizes available, but there is a large selection of available fuses for the installation. 26-254 1) is your maximum fuse size ...not more than 125% x Rated Primary Current. 26-256 1) a) and 2) a) ...would be used to size your primary and secondary conductors. 26-254 3) - YES, allows you to increase to the next standard size fuse ...keep in mind if you do increase your fuse ...need to follow 26-256 4) for sizing your primary and secondary conductors. You have choices when sizing the primary fuse of a dry type transformer.

5c) secondary EMT size ...4 - 2/0 T90 ...T10A ...144mm2 x 4 = 576mm2 ...T9I ...use a 53 trade side
