Hahaha the end was so great to watch with that low fuel! I've had my fuel drop and come to a stop 3m from the finish line on the last lap, a nice LMP Chap helped me by hitting me from behind to push over the finish line 😂😂 Great stuff mate love it!

With the mclaren you need to shift as soon as the rev lights become red-blue-red-blue etc. Gives you more torque

Specifically *as* they change. You're supposed to use the solid blue for timing.

@ from the testing i’ve done yes, that gains you a tiny bit in acceleration, but shifting as soon as it becomes red blue gains you more top end (don’t ask me why)

First race in the McClaren? That is my go-to GT3. I will try different cars, but I am almost always fastest in the 720s.

Shift at the blue lights. It's in the manual. With driver reaction time this results in the shift taking place during the red and blue lights.

Hi Dave, did you change only the leftside tyres? I've been in iRacing for a year but haven't tried longer races that you need to pitstop yet. I think most of us would appreciate it if you could create a video explaining how you plan for long races. I'd love to learn more about fuel calculations, tyre changing decisions, pit stop timing, and similar strategies from your experience..

Shift point for the McLaren is when the lights turn blue and red, 5th gear is super short

Manual for the Mecca says "When the optimum RPM for an upshift is approaching, the entire set of LEDs will illuminate in blue. Drivers should initiate the upshift when these solid blue lights appear. The goal is for the shift to occur when the blue/red LEDs appear (driver reaction time considered)."

Agreed. I tested this a bit on Daytona and noticed the Asetek shift lights are VERY late on the optimal shift light indicator. Right when they turn from all blue to red+blue (in car/dash display) is the optimal shift. You seem to lose a lot of power when you let it get to blinking blue+red.

I feel this is your 3rd race with a pit stop you didnt listen to crew cheif and went way too light on fuel... also you probably should have kept shifting as early on the first few laps then as you were after pit it did seem you held on 5th gear way too long .. keep it up dave 👍

iRacing works with people who work with the cars to dial in the sounds. They’ll send them sound files for them to review for which sounds the best

@@markturek4873 I have no doubt that they do their best. I'm assuming there is a level of "fiction" that goes into the other titles car sounds to make them sound so much better. I think its pretty obvious
