I was a toddler when I first heard this on the radio and I thought she was singing "there's a bloody road ahead".....any way thanks, Patti has always been my favorite.

Muddy and bloody, that's quite a difference there. I grew up on a lot of songs that in recent years i finally started understanding. So you're definitely not alone. Considering the shape the 45 was in, i found it amazing how my AT managed to get it played. When i first posted this, in January 2013, we had just lost Patti. This was originally a tribute post. And of course, i like her music too.

Some of my faves include "Dondi", "Left Right Out of Your Heart", "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte", "Allegheny Moon", "Old Cape Cod", "Cross Over the Bridge" "(How Much Is That) Doggie In the Window", "The Tennessee Waltz", "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus", "Mockin' Bird Hill", "Steam Heat" and "I Went to Your Wedding". To say nothing of the two songs here, which are also good.

Oh yeah, forgot about "Throw Momma from the Train", as well as "One of Us (Will Weep Tonight)" and her duet with Tom T. Hall on "Hello, We're Lonely".
