i've listened to the soundtracks but never actually played the games, kaufman is an inspiration of mine when it comes to chiptunes. an underlying problem is one of my faves

@@bbbeeerrr i've read you've been doing it on and off for a while. Is that more like one or two years or much longer? Also, does analyzing modules help in a way, or does simply using 0cc FT or Furnace get you somewhere on its own? I always have trouble with actually finishing something and having it sound good.

​@@joshi_6887 i'd say i've been using famitracker for around two or three years, i haven't used furnace nearly as long. i don't think the tracker itself changes the outcome of what i create, however famitracker's interface is easily my favorite because of how simple and speedy it feels to use; i haven't tried other forks like dn-famitracker yet but i may eventually. studying modules and listening to other artists really helped me improve my skills and i'd highly recommend it. vinylcheese really inspired me to try; i went through and downloaded whatever he had available and took it apart to get an idea of how he structures his work. you can learn a lot of techniques and different ways of designing sounds by doing that. i believe anyone can do it with enough practice and patience; if you need any more advice i'd be glad to try and help. :)

Is APU 2 the MMC5's PCM channel?

apu 2 is the triangle, noise and dpcm channels from the 2a03. i put them together here because of how the mixing works for that part of the sound chip. (dpcm affects the triangle and noise channel's volume.)
