Thanks for the demo. I just picked up a lishi starter kit and found chevy super easy, chrysler slightly harder, ford was difficult to feel and easy to overshoot, I was unable to unlock my Toyota highlander before dark so I'll give it another shot tomorrow. I didn't realize each wafer had to picked in both directions when the split wafer is used. I will have to practice on a junk lock when I get to the lexus lock cylinders.

These usually aren’t terribly hard to pick but reading them can be tough. I usually don’t bother trying. I unlock the car with the Lishi then get the code off the lock.

@@BoredLockpicker if u pick a Toyota lock with the lishi will the decoding from the lishi be the correct cuts or do u need to convert since Toyota is flipped example 4 is 1 cut and 2 is 3 cut only reason I’m asking is I had a 10 sequoia all keys lost and the code wasn’t on the cylinder so I disassembled the cylinder and got the code from the wafers but I didn’t kno the cuts were flipped

@@BoredLockpicker I was so frustrated because it was an all keys lost and it was the middle of the night and out of all days the code was not on the cylinder 😑 and I used the numbers stamped on the wafers with no luck then the next morning I called lock code and the guy told me they are flipped

This is a great video and you are quick with that Lishi! Not to totally burst your bubble, but just wanted to clarify this is not a split wafer Toyota lock. This lock is from a 10 cut Toyota (HPC Card CF307), which do not have split wafers but they do have "double opposed" wafers meaning 2 opposing wafers in the same chamber. The 8 cut Toyota using HPC card CF208 is for the Split Wafer locks with the splits being in the 2 and 7 positions. They have 2 half wafers in a single chamber, hence "split wafer." Sorry, just spreading correct terminology my friend. Again, fantastic video! :)

On the lishi the 1 is a deep cut but on the dolphin 1 is a shallow cut.

a lishi is like a key it can be inserted either way. If I'm picking counter clockwise is goes in the way you see. If im picking the other way i put in the other but I'm right handed and that way would block the camera

@@BoredLockpicker I don't know. It's my first Lishi and I'm practicing on my own car. Plus, I haven't successfully picked any lock yet but I've raked a few! I'm not sure I even qualify as a beginner! One odd thing, I think, I never feel any resistance in position 7.

This isn’t a good one to start with. It’s not one of the easier ones. Decode your key. And if you have and 4 depths make sure to not pick them. Only pick the stiff ones. And spring at all leave it alone
