That's not the way that D339 is supposed to run, just plumb pitiful, the way it's cared for!!!

I bought the machine for the blade. Engine locked up, got engine freed up and running. Runs fine. Has exhaust leaks coolant leaks etc. I start it a couple times a year to keep it moving, it won’t ever push another pile of dirt.

Make sure you engage the main clutch when it’s sitting in neutral and the Johnson bar in either forward or reverse
@HaydenIngram Жыл бұрын
Clutch doesn’t disengage properly so it grinds at times. This machine is live pto so regardless if the clutch is engaged or not the blade is still able to work.

@@HaydenIngram gotcha that’s why because the trans brake is already burned up from letting it sit disengaged. Not saying you did it but probably someone before you. I love those old cats spent quite a bit of time on both and d7f and an E but they were both power shifts. Keep the vids coming want to see her put to work!

@@opictia yeah it had been sitting for about 10-15 years before I got ahold of it so I’m not sure exactly why it was parked, got the engine freed up and running, bought the machine soley for the blade so everything else was just a bonus..

I just bought a D7E 47A, what hydraulic fluid do you recommend using in it?
@HaydenIngram Жыл бұрын
Pretty much all your old cat equipment goes as followed. 10w hydraulic oil in hydraulics. 30w in transmission, 15-40 in the engine, 50w in the final drives. Also on your machine up under the dash there is a dipstick there and that’s for the flywheel clutch and I’ll have to check on that oil
@camachofrank9968 Жыл бұрын
@hayden ingram thank you, I never knew there was a dipstick under the dash for the clutch. Its tough to find specs for some of these old machines.

@@camachofrank9968 yeah not much on the internet at all. Best thing to do is find a parts book and a service manual for your serial number and read up on it and get to know your machine…
@camachofrank9968 Жыл бұрын
@hayden ingram I can't find a serial number on it, probably fell off years ago. But Im positive its a D7e 47a.
@HaydenIngram Жыл бұрын
@@camachofrank9968 if it’s a direct drive it’s 47a if it’s powershift it’s 48a. Serial number if not above the starter on the block will be stamped into the case on the top left rear of the machine, you should see 2 little holes if the tag isn’t there where the rivets used to be. Same with the blade it’s on the back right of the blade. All the machines of that day had a serial number for the blade, the cable unit or hydraulic unit and then the actual machine.
