Not sure what made this game enter my mind, but I'm glad I decided to look up the WR run for it haha. Nicely done! Definitely didn't expect such a recent run, always cool to see folks grinding down records all this time later. I used to love this game, and I was decent at it, but not good enough to beat it. I think at my best, I was losing somewhere around race 20-22. I feel like I could ask a number of questions, but I realize it might be annoying to answer a huge list, so I'll just ask : Is there any documentation out there for tips on getting better at this? Character choices, shortcut spots, etc. I'm sure just learning the courses through trial and error helps as much as anything, but some of those shortcuts in particular were pretty wild, heh. Haven't played it much in years anyway. My old cart died off after wearing it out in the late 90s. I did emulate it some a few years back, but didn't make it quite as far as I used to be able to when I played it tons. Anyway...I'm rambling. Great watch! Kudos on the time!

Hey @baypath247 thanks for your note. I appreciate you checking out the video. You're welcome to go through my run and use whatever shortcuts I'm using. As for character choices: whether you race as Walter or Spider, your top speed, handling etc. is always the same. I pick Anne because then I can cut down on my time on the selection screen. I think the best advice I can give is just get used to the race layouts. I would recommend using an emulator and creating a save state at the beginning of each race, so you can go back and practice as much as you want. There are a few resources on the Speedrun.com forum for this game (including maps from the Sega version), but I'm not aware of a comprehensive strategy guide. www.speedrun.com/micro_machines_nes/forum You can also feel free to send me a message with any more questions.
