Likewise. I'm starting my second 48 hour fast tomorrow. The last time I did it was 4 months ago. I found it very difficult. I managed 42 hours. But yes, I agree, it was killer 😂
@EMVera-eh5nm3 жыл бұрын
@@danielaevans9331 Personally, I think; the key is to not wait until you’re hungry. Start your fast around 6P rather than in the morning. Got to bed, wake up, you’re done with the first 12 hours or so, water, and whatever else is acceptable during the fast thru out the day (keep the stomach “full”) i too had quit at about 44 hrs or so.. I did it as explained above last week, and it worked. I could’ve kept going, I wasn’t hungry at all, but I decided not to.

As a type 2 diabetic, I’m finding the 72 hour fast is more beneficial than 48. The 48 was not affecting my glucose levels as much, the 72 is dramatic. I’m doing it weekly with doctors ok. I still walk 6 miles a day and lift some weights. Day two is the hardest day three is the easiest.
@yohughson13854 жыл бұрын
Dennis, do you do 72 hours one time a week how many times a month ?
@LASoundCrafter4 жыл бұрын
E. Yoly Hughson So far every week (completed one month so far). My doctor is a firm believer in Dr. Jason Fung’s work in regards to intermittent fasting and long term fasting. He recommended The Diabetes Code. The every week is an experiment to see how far we can reverse the condition, so far my A1c has dropped from 8.1 to 6.5. When I do eat, aim for a limit of 35 gms of carbs per day. Fung convincingly says “diabetes IS reversible.”

Pascale Devalet I’m not a doctor, so I’m hesitant to give advice. Everybody is different, so what works for me may not for you. But one thing that I recently discovered was raw apple cider vinegar. Four tablespoons mixed with water, sipped at night dramatically affected my fasted morning glucose readings. I found, adding one packet of stevia with the mix, greatly reduced the blunt ugly taste of the vinegar and made it palatable. I was surprised at the result.

I had even energy and a clearer mind. It was pretty amazing. I lost 3 lbs, but figured I'd gain it back, however, I gained 1 lb the next day, but was back down the next day, so I actually lost 3 lbs. I find when doing a 24-48 fast that it's a good idea to do a people fast as well. I contacted my mother while under going my 48 hour fast, it was a big mistake, my adrenaline sky rocketed I had my father bitching about rot on the first day of my fast as well. I started free falling for a bit but came out of it by night fall and didn't brake the fast. I must have great resilience to be able to get through that. So my strategy is to people fast whilst abstaining from food. I think we all need a brake from toxic people from time to time in fact I my do a complete reset and give certain people and toxic places the boot for good, sugar is another thing that can go as well. Time for a huge reset.💪

I did 48 for the first time last week after 2 months of doing 16/8 and some 20/04 with the occasional OMAD. The major problem was the headache, that wasn't too intense, but I definitely felt it when going to sleep on the first day and then in the morning the next day. In the afternoon of the second day I was energetic and ready to push it to 72 with no problem at all (which I didn't). It wasn't very easy, but it definitely wasn't very hard either. I came out of it saying that this is for like, once every 6 months or something, but now I'm thinking, meh, I could do it again...

Tried your 20 hrs fast. On the 18th hour, we both have very bitter taste in our mouth. Why, and how to stop it. Would taking med break our fast?
@900QP3 жыл бұрын
Fasting can help you achieve a state of ketosis. This state is caused by elevated ketone levels. The taste in your mouth is Acetone which is a ketone that leaves the body via your breath and urine. Ketosis happens when fat is broken down to produce energy, which also produces ketones with is a type of acid. Keto breath doesn’t last forever as your body adjusts to the lower carbohydrate intake. Make sure you are hydrating with water, black coffee and tea during your fast, unless of course you are dry fasting.

should i be doing 48/h fast if i weight 220lbs? and i want to go down to 156lbs? i'm 5.7ft tall, and 31 yrs old, going to have too much loose skin? if i develop more muscle, can i go down just to 176lbs?
@MystiqueRoz4 жыл бұрын
48hrs fast should be ok. Just try not to lose to much weight too fast to prevent loose skin. I do a 48hrs fast once a month while doing low carb OMAD most days. Still have a long was to go but I’ve lost about 18lbs so far since beginning of July.

@@MystiqueRoz that's my main concern, lose weight too fast and gain loose skin, how much weight should i lost per month?
@MystiqueRoz4 жыл бұрын
@panchow I had the same concerns also, so now I’m learning to accept that it’s better to lose weight slowly. The first month you tend to lose the most weight which is normal. Most recommend 1-2lbs weight loss per week. I lost 9lbs in July, 6lbs in August, and about 4-5lbs this month. I started with my max weight in June at 204lbs. You might end up losing more weight also since you’re a male. For some reason it’s easier for males to lose weight.

Hi Thomas, is there a chance you'll run another challenge soon? I'm just getting ready to start IF and keto. It would be awesome to get the hang of it with other people. Just wondering. Btw, I love your channel! I've learned so much.

I just finished my second day eating, so I'm back on two days of fasting tomorrow as it happens. 48hrs eating/ 48 hours fasting works well for me.

Morning, doing 16/8 Monday to Friday, weights 5 days a week, run 25KM a week, once a month i do a 48hr fast. 3 Years ago, i was on benzo with not light in the tunnel. Fasting is a great way of taking control, makes it easier. My kids pretty much stop eating and only have fruits once i stop eating at 1800. Good stuff

48s are fantastic!! When I see the 'trend' going up on my morning scale I know it is SO EASY to adjust. Drop a 48 and everything is all better. Plus I amp up the weight workouts and have super energy - just the opposite of what I would have ever expected.

Been fasting for two weeks and down 8 lbs. This is great info. However, watching this guy, I can't imagine he could do a 48 hour fast. The guy is already at a low body fat percentage and doesn't look he had any reserves. Lol

Just wanted to say thanks for this video. It would appear that while I was doing well in consistently fasting intermittently, I have been eating not so well things like carby stuff. At least now, with this, I can try a few new things to see if it helps me even more. 😁 In the past like 2-3 weeks or so, I think I am down about 10lbs. At least now, I may be able to push it a bit more or see better results. Thanks again for the info & all the info you share with everyone. 😁👍

Intermittent fasting benefits 👍 Weight and body fat loss. Increased fat burning. Lowered blood insulin and sugar levels. Possibly reversal of type 2 diabetes. Possibly improved mental clarity and concentration. Possibly increased energy. Possibly increased growth hormone, at least in the short term.

Hi, I'm doing my first ever DRY 48h fast. I'm actually at hour 49, and as it's 8pm in the evening, I'm going to go to bed and actively break my fast in the morning. It was not as bad as i thought, but I'm really weak & tired now. With all these people saying "I feel great, and have mental clarity and energy", is my tiredness normal???

@YouWhatMate_Official Жыл бұрын
Just coming off my 48hr fast now, it's been challenging but I feel amazing that I resisted that urge to eat. The hardest part was the nights before bed, but if I kept myself busy, I go straight to bed. Keeping busy is the key, if your mind is off the hunger, you're less likely to think about food or anything. I'll definitely do this again
